Being logged into TT but not actually reading it

Just thought this may be an idea, on most websites where it's realtime, one says brb or somesuch.

I have received a few messages in the past telling me the person will meet me at whatever time or can i tell them something and then been told off for no reply.

I wasn't actually near the computer but was still logged on to TT.

Yeah, i hear you, just log off when not there/here but i'm a lazy arse and i think others are too.

Anyway, going cooking some grub and will be right back.

Join the tinfoil hat brigade and log on anonymously. Then you can always be not there even when you are there.

It's possible to see if someone is "there" by checking the "Last Active" time in their profile, which is still updated even if they are logged on anonymously.

Logging in anonymously hardly makes you part of the tinfoil hat brigade. I started logging in anonymously a few years ago when I was still one of the top posters, because at least a couple times I had people stalk me online. Anonymous login was an easy fix to that.

Oh, I was just being a bit tongue-in-cheek there. And anyway, a tinfoil hat is a fine thing. I use mine for stalking other TT'ers.

Yes it is, the ever watchfull forum software can see you, even if others cannot.

I don't bother logging off either!

Just change your tag line to say "fuck off, I'm busy dammit!"
Either that or add an out of office reply type dealy that could say the same thing.

Myself, I would much rather see a drop down box listing all alternative names to date. Some fuckers change their name more than some change their underwear.

BTW, do all posts under various aliases get added together or does it remain separate? Some people seem to be artificially low in that department.

I don't log out either, I have the password saved so I don't have to log on every time I want to read the forum.
