WIERD use of English on Adverts

"Snacks for Cracks" to advertise cheese!

Anyone seen those frankly BIZARRE adverts for ready made cheese snacks from Alpenhain (?) on the U-Bahn? Some nutty half naked bloke doing a handstand and lots of pics of their product with the big slogan:

SNACKS FOR CRACKS

across the middle!

What's it all about?

It's a campaign to stop you jacking up mozarella in a dodgy toilet in Stachus station?

"I started off with just smoking the odd brie wedge, I thought I could handle it.
Now I can't get off full on Feta and cranberry sauce - my life is ruined"

Processed cheese snacks - Just say no!

Crack means crazy. Or the more interesting possibility is depending on which half of him is naked, crack could refer to something else.

I sw that ad as well and I must admit the narcotic type of crack did not cross my mind. I just got weird images of people stuffing cheesy snacks in their cracks for kicks. uck!
Katrina
Graham, some people pay for that kind of imagery and you just give it away for free.

What about weird photos in German ads? The one that always gets me is the ad for some cigarette company where the girl is crouched in the woods with her panties down, smiling broadly and smoking a cigarette. Now, I don't smoke, so I don't know if that is common practice, but if I need to go in the woods, I'm more focussed on avoiding clothing and avoiding being seen. Perhaps smoking means you're more laidback about it all!
