Five women refused seats in an Oktoberfest tent

Waitress preferred men as they tend to drink more
sarabyrd
I only saw this en passant in one of the tabloids: Five young women were refused a seat by a waitress who claimed that women don't drink as much as men as she didn't want them in her service. No link up to now; does anyone else have more information?

Why is this news?

Would be interested to know more. Our server at Schottenhammel was in a grumpy mood from when he sat 8 girls down on Sunday night. Wonder if that was why?

Never heard of this before. Seems strange when you first read it but i suppose that if the server is looking to maximise cash intake there may be some justification?

@ JE: Because they were refused beer for greedy, sexist reasons. The waitress, as I read, was reprimanded.
gideon
Understandable. I've heard of it happening, have a friend who was asked to go because they were 5 girls and they only wanted 3 mass. She told them to royaly use the beer glass in a self inflicted fetish sex act. And stayed.

Surely they must have been christians or lesbians or nuns or Americans or dogs or called Bella or something. Otherwise this thread will die a death...

Sounds like a good system to me. Was hoping they could improve on it so that women must actually give up their seat if a man is looking for one? Same kinda system as giving up your seat on the tram for a pregnant woman.

Think about it. For say 50 weeks of the year a man would be expected to give up his seat on the train for pregnant women or those over say 80, and then for 2 weeks of the year women would be expected to give up their seat at the Oktoberfest for a man.

Seems very fair to me.

p.s. We could maybe have a "special rule" where they are allowed to stay if they agree to drink topless?
perdido
Or hookers! There are no hookers in this story!

Men get refused entry into nightclubs for similar reasons and we accept it so it seems hypocritical to complain in this case.
gideon
So they can only stay if they are topless drunken chicks. They've abviously been trying that rule out at the HB for a few years already...

ER I have never been refused entry because I couldnt drink more than a woman! ;-)

The only reason this rule would fall down is if the ladies concerned were TTerins, there are several on this board who can outdrink me.

Well, I was at Oktoberfest on Sunday night with a reserved table of 20 people. We sat down and immediately ordered beers - 20 Mass bitte. We all passed over our coupons and 1€ to cover the tip required. Yep, she made 20€ just in tips for 2 trips to the keg for about 10 minutes of work. Not bad. Maybe I should take those 2 weeks off from work and be a beer wench at Oktoberfest.

How much money do these (beer serving) women make in week at Oktoberfest?
sarabyrd
I say God should do something about this. He created women, beer and money (since he created everything), he should point a divine finger at a solution.

Last year I saw a table full of Italians* kicked off a table before a beer had been served. The waitress didnt want them there and got security to move them. They asked to see the manager and were told by the woman "Where this table is concerned, I am the manager!".

*Not your standard run of the mill stereotypical Italians either.

if serving men 8 to 12 thousand I believe.

3Lions, I've asked waitress's to kick italians of tables and they've done it knowing that we were going to be a much more profitable set of blokes. Alls fair in love and getting a wiesn seat.
