I may be spending New Year/Hogmanay here in Frankfurt. Does anyone have any tips for a good night out for NYE? Any experience and recommendations?

Opernplatz seems to be one of the favoured locations for a certain type of German male looking to show off his big rocket at the twelfth stroke. And he may let off a couple of fireworks too.

Hey all.

This is my first new years in Germany, was wondering if anybody had any suggestions as to what there is to do in FFM over this period?

Everyone I know have buggered off to their cornor of the wolrd so I will be flying solo over new years. So preferably would like to go somewhere where you don't feel like a total idiot being on your own.
