"A German man who had been drinking heavily at Munich's Oktoberfest beer festival got stuck in a chimney for 12 hours while trying to climb into a friend's apartment, police said on Friday. After finding his friend was not at home, the 27-year-old climbed on to the roof of a neighbouring building at about 02:00 on Thursday and headed for what he thought was a gap in the wall between the two houses. He found himself sliding almost 30 metres head first into a chimney, a spokesperson for Munich police said.

You'd think if Santa can make it through hundreds of thousands of chimneys in one night, a man can climb through one, but I guess not. Santa's chimney climbing skills are way underrated.

So here is a strange story from Reuters today. It's about a German man who had been drinking at the Oktoberfest and he somehow managed to get stuck in a chimney for 12 hours while trying to climb into a friend's apartment. I guess this goes to show that you have to be careful where you go after the Weis'n.
What crazy things have you done?
You can read the rest of the story here:
Oktoberfest reveler stuck in chimney for 12 hours. It's worth the read, sadly they don't say where this 27 year old was stuck. Anyone know him?

They are a few days late, I'm afraid.
Edit: @Tom, I think it's the fourth.

I was in the building next door when it happened: it was on Tal, in the hotel right beside Burger King. Around 2:30pm about 5 fire trucks arrived, plus 4 small firemen's vans, 2 or 3 cop cars and a paramedics ambulance. Impressive alright. We were wondering if our building was burning down and somebody had forgotten to tell us.
I went downstairs and that when I asked the medics what was the matter and one of them explained there was a "Kaminstau". I am sure they already knew it was "someone" stuck in there and not just a case of dirty chimney but probably couldn't quite share it with the world yet.
Funny thing is it might have been a common chimney for a few buildings because although everyone was concentrating around the hotel and coming in and out of it, I saw one fireman head into the Burger King with some kind of cutting tool (according to my expert eye of course) and come back a few minutes later so maybe he had to gain access to the chimney this way? Or maybe he just had to use the jacks, don't know. Anyway why he came back out without a Whopper is beyond me.

Gotta love the irony of getting Hypothermia in a chimney. Also, a pretty creative drunk, going for the chimney. But, as pointed out, in the glockenbachvietel, you do get guys interested in dark passages.
