General info on life in Glockenbachviertel

I spend 8-10 weeks a year consulting in Munich, mostly in the fall. This autumn I'm setting up in a totally new neighborhood for me, Glockenbachviertel (lower end of Geyerstr.). I would be grateful for recommendations of places to eat and drink in the neighborhood (either side of the river). And if anyone is putting together evening or weekend activities in that area, such as tennis or poker or dancing or cinema, I'll be resident from mid-October through mid November.

Oh, and I need to know where to buy groceries!

Lower end of Geyererstraase go for groceries to either the nearby REWE,, Tengelmann on Holzstrasse or the penny on Kapuziner/Thalkirchener.
