Needed desperately: a dress suitable for a 5 pm wedding in VA in 10 days. Something for a "woman of a certain age", in other words nothing too bare and none of those trendy tent dresses that are a throwback to the sixties. Where would you look? I have been to Hertie, Kaufhof Galleria and Ludwig Beck, and really found quite expensive things that are not becoming at all. It's not me; my figure is quite normal! I don't mind spending some dough, but not for things that don't look good.

Zara, Mango, and Promod (all in the town centre) are quite good for nice dresses.

Peek and Cloppenburg in PEP-Neuperlach Zentrum.

Try Massimo Dutti?
SpiderPig
try the Reim arcade...

I've had good luck at Konen on Sendlingerstr.

Try Sinn und Leffers in the Riem Arcaden (U2 to Messestadt West...you can't miss it). They have really nice things for all types. Good luck! (Added bonus: if you don't find something there, there are many other shops in the Arcaden to browse...)
LauKatOD
Hettelage (sp.?) on Kaufingerstr.

Thanks very much for all your suggestions; I will be out there tomorrow checking them all out.

Tintoretto in Riem Arcaden or next to Sports Schuster.
Very dressy, Spanish fashion, uses tons of colour.

Surprisingly C&A on Kaufingerstr. have some really nice and reasonably priced dresses on the top floor. Might be a big everning dress-like but possibly worth a look? I also second Zara and Konen- beautiful clothes if you have the cash!
