This is my first Wies'n, so many things are new to me. One thing that has surprised me is seeing several women wearing Lederhosen. Is this a recent development? A fashion or social statement? (I haven't seen recognized any men in Dirndln yet.) Your thoughts? ohmy.gif
DDBug
Why not? Women sometimes *gasp* wear jackets and trousers to work.

Seen a few kilts running around as well, and those are kind of not really pants on men either ... rolleyes.gif

i cannot take your post serious. why would it be odd or surprising to see women in trousers/lederhosen?
James_Runner
@planetmoni: I have absolutely nothing against it but had thought that men wear Lederhosen and women Dirndln.
Moonboot
how was it tradtionally in 'olden times'?
did they even have super-short porn-esque dirndls back then too?

oo we saw a man in a dirndl...think he was on a stag do though. he got loads of female attention I have to say!
jamie
Whereas a dirndl makes nearly everyone look better, lederhosen are alot trickier. It's like very short hair on a woman - when it works it really works well(see fig.1) but when it doesn't it really doesn't.(see fig.2). With lederhosen and short hair there is a fine line between beautiful and butch.

I can tell you, 12 or so years ago, it certainly was NOT common. In fact, for the longest time, a woman wearing Lederhosen was really a bit of cross-dressing. Now though, I don't think it's that strange to see.
Johnny English
From what I understand from family - 20 years ago - nobody wore the local fancy dress except the really old fuckers. So was like 1 in 30 people and considered very uncool.

Personally I think chicks in Lederhosen can look seriously hot. But then I also think girls look great in boxer shorts, so obviously I got some issues that DON'T need further analysis right now.

p.s. I think if you got some junk in the trunk then clearly shorts are not a wise choice.
prilmeie
My personal feelings - as a native - are mixed as well. It's the same as those super-trendy shorts, most women/girls just don't seem to get it that this looks only good if their bottom is right for it.

If it isn't - and on top of it most girls don't have any (visible) muscles around their thigh - then it really look like chicken legs. Some of my friends are wearing them and think they look hot (for above reasons), but they don't ... But don't ever even think about telling them.

Women wear suits with jackets that are cut to fit women. Their suits are different. Period. Seeing a woman wear lederhosen is about like seeing a woman wear a tuxedo. It would be strange and that's hardly a chauvinist thing to say.

Putting all that aside, I'm rarely impressed (in a heterosexual, checking out chicks sort of way) by women in lederhosen. It just doesn't look right, somehow. However, I'm with Johnny English that gals in boxer shorts look awesome. They look even better if there's a group of them playing soccer.
Johnny English
Good to know I am not the only gay in the village.

Scandalous! Women in trousers, be smoking and drinking next! And driving cars and getting jobs and raising families without the benefit of a man to show them the way things are done.
Jebus! I´ll be wearing a skirt next...wait a minute I do ! blink.gif Silly me! laugh.gif

Some of the larger stores sell Lederhosen in the ladies department... am assuming those are cut to fit women???

What do you mean? Those are not men's Lederhosen. These Lederhosen are cut for women -- it's women's Lederhosen. Wherever they sell Tracht they not only sell Dirndl for the girls but pants as well.

Some women just wouldn't look good in a Dirndl and if they still want to wear Tracht why not go for the Lederhosen. They can still look feminin.

I am with you on this. I also do not wish to be analysed at the moment.

That is, point blank, a nice bun. What do I care what's covering it. Based strictly on the bun, I'll bet it belongs to a smart, kind lady.

That's when you get the shock... when she turns around, usually... ph34r.gif

Thinner women often look better in Lederhosen than they would in a Dirndl, IMHO. If you're slim and boyish overall, you've got nothing to push up to create that desirable bosomy Dirndl look. Might as well work with it and go with the gender-bender thing.
georgiagirl
Gotta disagree with you cinzia. I'm slim and don't have much on top, but I think people would prefer to see my less-than-overwhelming cleavage than be subjected to my pale skinny flamingo legs.
cinzia
Well, if you do have the gams but no bazooms, your choice is obvious. laugh.gif

Lederhosen DO come in the long version as well wink.gif

Well, call me old-fashioned, but I like my chicks with 2 matching legs. That one seems to have a huge hairy right leg.
georgiagirl
I have neither gams nor bazooms. Next year, I plan to forego Tracht altogether and just wrap myself head-to-toe in brown paper and duct tape.

Well I was having a google for a pikkie of a chic in nice boxers but it all went baaaaaaaaaaadly wrong:

WTF?

Hm. Although the duct tape could help to create some attractive contours (think duct-tape corset), I'd reconsider the brown paper. It's got no chance against spilled beer.
Hazza
Women in Lederhosen look crap...especially as they have the option of the far more attractive (and cheaper) dirndl.

Wear your fish-net stockings like on Tuesday.
georgiagirl
I wore regular stockings on Tuesday, though they might have looked like fishnets due to the amount of runners they had.
Keydeck
Maybe Sarabyrd's mixing it up with this.

It all depends how you present your cleavage. Big ones do not always look appealing, it's all about presentation.
sarabyrd
Yeah, borrow hers.
Matt T
Women look great. Yeah...

Ahh... Lederhosen? Oh yeah. Women in Lederhosen.
- Nice legs in shorts, very hot.
- Long pants, pretty boring.
Keydeck
An example of what I would personally consider to be excellent presentation.

georgiagirl
I think it just depends on the woman and her personality. I've seen some ladies' Lederhosen that looked quite cute, but it's just not something I could ever pull off regardless of body type. I'm a girly girl, and even without boobs I think I'm just more suited to a dirndl. I'm also conventional, boring and not particularly daring when it comes to fashion. Daring for me means wearing black shoes and carrying a brown handbag.

It has been noticed that quite a few gents do download pictures of ladies playing touch rugby and now I know another culprit! laugh.gif

Some do, some don't. Showem is right, it is relatively recent that it has become acceptable.
Saw a stunning model-type with 2 kids and husband near the U-Bahn on Sat - bronzed, leggy, perfect Lederhosen, she looked fantastic as they suited her.
They aren't for all though.
And I certainly agree with big does not always equal nice.
Better a drindl or Lederhosen that fits with the right underwear!
Sanielle
oh i always think girls in lederhosen are cute! i want somebut dont wear leather! (is there such thing as pleatherhosen? tongue.gif

You just gotta get used to the buttons.
marka
Women in Lederhosen?! Hell yes. Bring it on!!!
sarabyrd
This whole thread reminds me of Bavarian soft-porn movies in the 1970's: "Unterm Dirndl wird gejodelt" and "Liebesgrüße aus der Lederhose (Parts 1 through 7)
".
cinzia
Yeah, marka, those girls (that girl?) would definitely look shite in a Dirndl.
Keydeck
Haha, was thinking along similar lines but different wording. Was gonna comment that that girl is gonna look stunning regardless of what she's wearing.
lulü
I think women in lederhosen look fine.what can i do? I dont have dirndl but i have lederhosen, anyway i dont care what they gonna think about me as long as i have fun... so see u on saturday auf der wiesn.
James_Runner
I was hoping some adventurous souls would post come pics. thanks, folks wub.gif

You've no access to Google? Or were you looking for personal photos? Tis a new approach granted.

Google?

hmm, "lederhosen girls bukkake", let's see what we get
James_Runner
@Keydieck ummm, yes and no.
UpQuark
For the record, I saw a dude in a dirndl last night at Schottenhamel.
Showem
And in your heterosexual but unbiased opinion, did he look hot?
UpQuark
He did not.
