Drinks meetup in Hamburg-Sternschanze

Hello, My name is Sara, I just moved from Dresden. There was a cool Toytown groop there and I was wondering if anyone in Hamburg wanted to go this Friday for drinks. I think I live in Rahlstedt (not really sure) but I'll travel.

Rahlstedt is pretty far. Maybe somewhere near Hauptbahnhof would be convenient for ChiTown. Does this work? The only place I am familiar with is Finnegans Wake (beside the Rathaus). I'm open for other suggestions..

Anywhere will work. I've only been downtown one time so I'd really like to see the city. I've been here two weeks but with moving and my significant other starting school I haven't had a chance to meet anyone or go out. Traveling doesn't bother me as long as I end up somewhere interesting. There are mostly houses and little restaurants around where I live. It's not very exciting

Sternschanze works perfectly for me. Name a time and place and I'll be there. Unfortunately I have no recommendations for that area.

hmmm we need someone who has lived here for a while and knows where to go. Or we could meet somewhere and then if we're in a good part of town we'll be sure to stumble on something. Bars were on every street in Dresden, it wasn't hard to find one at all.

sternschanze isn't too big, so there will be no problems with finding a 'good part of the town'. i've been there couple of times (been in hamburg for 3 weeks), so i know few nice places. unfortunately don't remember the names
we could meet outside the sternschanze sbahn stop, what do you guys say?

Okay I'm going to see if I can't get some advice, is there a train station there we can all meet at? I've got a cell, so I can send my number to who ever wants to meet up. I really need to get out though

I think meeting at the S-bahn station Sternschanze is a good idea. Bars are only minutes away, and directions won't be needed. Maybe Miss Bo will recognize something along the way
What time is good for everybody? Steven mentioned he's available after 8pm.

@ ChiTown (short for chinatown? ) you may find useful this webpage www.hvv.de, it lists all means of public transport usw. i did a quick search for u (thats how good i am ) and found a route that would take u approx. 30min from rahlstedt to sternschnze, wiv one stop at hauptbahnhof. now u have to come up wiv some sensible time to meet up. im free from 8pm onwards.

Does 9pm at Sternschanze S-bahn station sound good to everybody? Or is 9 too early

i could probably do 9 at at sternschanze.

i'd be up for this. i'll probably show up a bit later though because i'm going to a concert at 8. i've been here about 3 1/2 weeks myself which means i've been to the schanze many times

@sami - Have you made any other plans or are you just hanging out at love tonight?

At the moment just hanging out in the club - it's very busy tonight, lots of hot women, great party atmosphere and rather randomly, a free buffet! Not sure why - someone is obviously celebrating something but I dunno what.
Unfortunately, though, that cold I was feeling the first signs of last night is starting to really kick in so I can't even taste my rum and coke and I'm feeling a bit 'uuurgh'. Still, mind over matter - it's Saturday night and I get to party without work pressures tomorrow so I am hoping I'll improve once I get a few more drinks in me!

I'm thinking I might head over to Lunacy on Hamburger Berg round 3/4am for some Rock & Metal plus a few 'Kleiner Mexianers' - if they don't clear my sinuses nothing will!
Then maybe Fishmarkt for a spot of breakfast if it's not raining, or alternatively just pop next door to Halo after we close as they generally have a good afterhours party in their upstairs bar that's free to get into, although the music won't be to your taste being as it's deep electro and tech-house. Although I reckon if you gave some of it a chance you could learn to love it. I never got into electronic stuff until I started hearing it on a good sound-system in a proper club - and they have a pretty phat rig in there.

If you do read this and fancy popping out for a beverage then give me a call or a text. I'll PM you my number. Although I am actually considering posting it up here - my numbers are pretty much public knowlege anyway and I can generally outweird most stalkers and crank-callers anyway. Failing that I'm in town till Thursday so if anyone fancies a quiet-ish drink or three midweek then get in touch.

@erin - You didn't miss quiz night, as there was a rugby game on instead. Hopefully next sunday it's on and I think we are planning to try again.

Oooh, I forgot about the public holiday on Wednesday! I have a feeling I will still be expected to work anyway, since most of the people I am dealing with at the moment are in the UK/US and therefore will be having a normal working day anyway - but with my late starts in the morning I might be tempted to come out for a drink on anyway. Only trouble is I am supposed to be saving up the pennies as I'm going back to England and am dreading the fact that as soon as I set foot at home, I'll be haemorraging cash. Bloody expensive country. Plus being paid in € and having to convert them back to £ will also sting a bit.

I'm up for arranging a TT night at the club but will have to leave it a couple of weeks as I'm going home on Thursday and will be gone around 2 weeks.

quiz... rugby... I don't mind either.
