Hippodrom power outage - Tuesday 25.Sep.2007

Just been told that the Hippodrom was without power for about 3 hours last night. Anyone know anything about it?

It's all over the papers, seems there was water leakage into a trafo station and it short circuited. Both Armbrustschützen and Hippodrom switched to emergency generators and the band played on. Four tents were without electricity for three hours in the morning.

But I did notice a couple of flickers in the power supply at the Wildmoser tent yesterday evening.

apparently it was only a few seconds long. My department at work was there.

I was wondering about that flicker in the Wildmoser. Just thought they were trying to do something funky in time to the music though

The same thing happened in the Winzerer faendl tent last night as well, the band started to play and the power went off and came back on almost instantly.

I was in the bathroom with the girls at the time and we screamed! (yes, typical women!)

Yes, but we were screaming at you as we thought you had switched the bathroom lights off

Same thing happened in the Hofbrau too.. lights went out for a quick second then back on and everything continued as normal..

I was in the Hippodrom last night and it was a couple of seconds max that the lights were out.

According to SaraByrd's link the 3 hour outage was earlier on in the day.
