Greetings from Trier!

Hi folks,

have posted here a couple of times already looking for help but can now see I was being rude as I haven't even introduced myself yet.

I've just moved with my husband and cat from Ireland to Trier for a year. I'm a mature student which means I gave up work to go to college full-time, and I'm now trying to learn German and French. Neither are too good so far I will be going to Trier University for my sins.

So far things are going grand with the exception of the odd hic-cup but that's to be expected. We're enjoying the weather...it's better than wet Ireland and the good food, beer, wine etc. Scenery is beauiful here too

So a big hello to everyone and thanks for help so far. It's great to be able to talk to people who have gone through things already.

Hi welcome to TT. I´ve been to trier once last year and its a nice quiet place.

Hey Lulue, (Sorry, I'm on a new Mac and I haven't mastered how to change the language on this yet.)

Trier is a very pretty town, probably quite quiet at night alright but am old married woman of 30, so that's not a big deal! It's also quite wet here today, schade! Where abouts is Gruenwald, sounds lovely...I like a few trees I do!

Must get decent map of Germany and hang in front of my nose, otherwise I'll be asking everyone where's dat now? :D Did you study here or have a short visit?

Google Earth ...

And they don't come much closer under your nose than Google Earth, had forgotten about that. And I was their best customer for awhile, trying to plot location of possible homes for us and the cat. Must go back now and use it just for fun
