Where to buy a second-hand car in Trier - Germany

Recommended dealers nearby, especially for a Merc

Hi folks,

we're looking to buy a second-hand car for about a year (less). We want to buy from a dealer as neither of us have strong German language skills yet. Can anyone recommend where we might find an honest dealer? We are in Trier and have a friend staying with us for now so we have a car to drive us if dealers are situated some distance from Trier.

If these dealers have websites, even better. Many thanks for replies.

Google for "Gebrauchtwagen Trier" ... Gebrauchtwagen = used/2nd hand car

Cheers Miwild, will give that a try. Hubbie went around to a few dealers today, some seem to be ready to scam in an instant! At our expense. We'll just need to be careful to suss out if they are honest or not.

What did you buy ? It's just that I don't live far away and I don't want to drive into somebody struggling to read the signs tongue.gif

God am very slow coming back to these. Not only can I not read signs, but have unreal feeling when sitting in car. I learnt to drive on the wrong side so now driving on the right feels weird!
Not only that but first few times I tried to drive, I couldn't get a feel for the clutch...was so frustrated. Then took car out after Chrimbo and I could do the clutch thingy. Was like a new person smile.gif

I hated learning to drive the first time round, it used to fill me with terror every time and I'd have to psyche myself up each time to go out. I'm just about back at that stage again! Am not telling you which make though! But it's a smallish white car. That's all I'm telling though! tongue.gif Cheeky rip! Drove up to Uni today to get dinner and managed not to maim or kill anyone there and back so can only say I feel I'm improving. God, hate this learning to drive stuff. Too much responsibility and so much can go wrong, never mind all the crazy lunatics out there.

Used to drive on the motorway at home and hands would be sweating with fear. Only had a micro and all the other huge cars did their best to run me of the road. It's not like I was taking up much room but reckon they didn't like driving behind a smaller car. Buggers!

Anyho, thanks for the encouragement their Tom tongue.gif
