Americans Abroad for Obama

OK, I have the Obama '08 buttons and bumper stickers (just came in the post today) and now I need the lederhosen and dirndl clad Americans for the picture to add to his website.

To do list:

Date and time to meet up and take the picture?
Location, location, location?
Someone with a better camera than what I have?

Any ideas?
NOFXmike
I got my lederhosen...as far as camera, all I got is a Canon A540 6mp...so nothing professional, but it does the job.

Location...hmm...Could try by the bavaria statue, but it's ALWAYS busy as all hell...

On Platzl in front of HB? ...would be much easier...

(and btw, I've voted for him before, so I would again cool.gif )

The time will have to be Saturday or Sunday early.
9 to 10am-ish!

I think the photo should be in front of the Löwenbräu lion with the beer.

Who is up for this?
James_Runner
I can do Sunday but not Saturday.
eurovol
Sunday, 10am in front of the Löwenbräu tent.
Don't forget to wear your lederhosen/dirndl.
eurovol
Come on folks, I need more definite commitments here or we will have to reschedule the photo shoot.
DDBug
Well, I will be there early anyway, so why not (good excuse to wear the dirndl one last time). Wasn't planning on being there by 10, but the way the crowds were yesterday, might as well start that early.
eurovol
Well, you and I would be the only ones with one other possible and a couple of maybes. Not sure it is going to happen tomorrow. Check here before you head out.
NOFXmike
I've got a tour at that time, sorry...though I will be wearing my Lederhosen I believe. The earliest I could make it over there would be at 1pm
eurovol
If a later time is more doable for the many, then I am game. I was simply thinking about the photo advantages of an earlier start time. I could easily do 2 or 3pm if that is a more acceptable time.
NOFXmike
I'd be there if it were at 2pm, for sure.
DDBug
I plan on being long gone from that madhouse by then. Sorry. But if you schedule another date, let me know.
eurovol
I think this is off for now.
Still want to do the pic in the next two weeks though.
eurovol
New date and location to be determined. Needs to say Munich all over it though.
Hutcho
You should have just rounded up a few people in Lederhosen down there and pretended that they were American!
eurovol
The Republicans would do that, not I. In fact, they did that using a crowd from a Howard Dean event.

No, I would imagine that the photo will require the names and voting state/district of each of the participants. At least that is what I will collect to send along with it. We can still take the photo in traditional attire and maybe have dinner afterwards.
eurovol
Who is up for taking the picture at the Löwenbräu Keller and then eating there afterwards? Or perhaps at the Siegestor?
sarabyrd
Your invite?
eurovol
What invite?

As long as I don't have to work, that sounds great...Löwenbräu Keller would probably be better for pics.
eurovol
Just watched him on Jay Leno. The guy is class pure. Much more down to earth than Hillary.
NOFXmike
Oh, if picking a day, I'd like to point out I'm nearly always available on Fridays and Sundays.
Cooperthom
Hi Barak Obama supporters, do any of you know if there are demonstrations against the US occupation of Iraq at the US Consulate in Munich or any other location in Munich? There are regular demos in the US every third Friday, part of a national Moratorium. Anything like that here? thanks for any info you can provide.

Sunday the 17th of February, 2pm at the Rathaus on Marienplatz. Anyone up for it?
SpiderPig

Yes, We Span!

Obama supporter's bridge photo
Sunday at the Newcomer's Festival.
Approximately 2pm
Meet at the Democrats Abroad Germany Munich Chapter booth (#004)

Some photos taken around the world thus far.
eurovol
Well, we got a few pics taken. This is one of the better ones. More photo opportunities to come. Obama has a special Americans Abroad website and our photos should show up there in the near future. The link above has many of those already taken around the world.

Democrats Abroad Say, ‘Yes We Span’

QUOTE
So far, bridge rallies have been held all over the world, from the Pont Neuf in Paris, to the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul, to the Batavia Drawbridge in Jakarta.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge and Oberbaum Brucke in Berlin will be invaded Saturday, with more events planned later this month.

Another France-based Obama fan, filmmaker Samantha Timmerman, plans on setting a photo montage of the bridge events to music, and submitting it to the Obama campaign and Democratic National Committee.

If all goes according to their plan, Democrats back in the States will see the video played at the party convention this summer.
