Oktoberfest reservation bracelets

Are they given at the entrance or were they supposed to be with the reservations?

The only tent I've ever been issued with a bracelet for was the Hippodrome and even then I've only had to show/wear it if it was raining and the queues to get in were huge. All other tents, knowing the name of the company/ person who the reservation is under was enough.

They show the guards at the doors at a glance that you belong to a reserved table for a certain time-slot on a certain day, you can use the reserved entrance and don't have to wait around with the plebs. It makes things easier for security inside as well if someone is sitting at your reserved table without the bracelet - they get ousted, you sit down and eat, drink and be merry until your slot ends. Then security ousts you.
It the tent is full, however, they do NOT guarantee you re-entry, even within your time-slot!

Thanks for the replies. My collegue and organizer for the Wies'n company meeting was stressing out about the issue.
We were in the HB tent and they had no bracelets. No access problems either.

My company went to the Hippodrome yesterday and they were only letting in people with bracelets! I'm off to the Paulaner Winzerer Fähndl tonight, they don't do bracelets so I hope I get in, what with all this rain!
