Indeed this is true. Best to offload currency in each respective country/zone before leaving as euros are worth more in Europe, dollars are worth more in the US etc etc

Anyone know if currency exchange places will change foreign coins into Euros, or do they only accept notes?

I've got a pile of NZD, AUD, and CHF coins that I want to get rid of.

My bank gave me 1.51 today. Is it normal for banks to give couple points below the exchange rate on the papers? ( I see 1,56)

What do you mean by "on the papers"? If you mean "in the newspapers", then yes, of course, that's how they make their money. And can I assume you're talking USD?
