Hi everyone,
I'm new here (this forum and also Germany) and I was just wondering if anyone has any idea where I could watch Rugby World Cup matches? Are they likely to be on German cable tv? Where could I find a pub that will show the games? I'm in Wuppertal for university and would happily jump on a train if that's what it takes, I can't miss tomorrow's Wallabies match.

I can't speak for Wuppertal but if you hop on the train to either Köln or Düsseldorf, you'll have plenty of choice.
I live in Köln and watch the Rugby in the Corkonian in the Altstadt... which is well signposted from the Hauptbahnhof!
Hope that little info helps.

Thanks mate. What sort of places should I look for in Düsseldorf? Just expat pubs or sports clubs or what?

Irish pubs.
Of which there are plenty in Düsseldorf.
Again, without trying to sound like a broken record, get into the Altstadt.
You can get there via the underground train and Bob's your uncle... the Rugby World Cup will be on in loads of places.
Sorry I can't name any specific pubs, matey.

Hi Fraz,
McLauglins - Kurzestr. Düsseldorf Altstadt is showing all the games & has a big screen. It has the best atmosphere for the rugby (well I suppose I would say that as it is my local!) Are you coming in on Saturday?

I am new to Düsseldorf as well. I have been watching the matches at O'Reilly's Pub in the Alstadt. They have multiple screens...the place is usually packed for the matches. Here is a link to their website:
