In honor of Oktoberfest, and because some of us are going to a hockey game in the early afternoon, I thought we'd do something different for brunch this weekend. Brauhaus Mitte does a pretty decent Bavarian breakfast (although they don't call it that) of Weißwurst, Brezen and sweet mustard, to be consumed of course with Weißbier. Weißwurst is traditionally eaten before noon, so we'll show up when the restaurant opens at 11am. The restaurant does have a full menu of other German food, and brews three or four of their own beers, if for some reason you want to depart from the Weißwurst and Weißbier plan.
Details:

It's a hard life, isn't it?

Word to the wise: don't look at the English menu. The names of some food items (Weißwurst, Leberkäse, Schweinshaxe) shouldn't be translated.

As I've already declared my undying love for Weisswurst at our last brunch, it should be no surprise I'll be there.
Anyone got any ideas for this weekend?

I'm up for a browse. I vaguely suggested to JT that the place we went to a couple of weeks ago in P'berg was worth a return. Or is it too soon?

If you mean Stella at Helmholzplatz, I walked past the other night and they seem to be refurbishing it at the moment...

I'm not quite Prenzlberg - not til 7pm tonight... I'll try and think of somewhere but I'm having a pretty hectic week moving etc. so I don't really have research time and I'm not quite sure what my plans are sunday anyway.

I'm in England for the next week or so, so I won't be at brunch on Sunday but just for your info, one of the girls I work with said she went to Frida (which I think is in the same square as Stella) and said the food was really nice. She went for a proper meal in the evening but I think they do Sunday brunch so it might be worth a try if you're stuck for ideas. Anyway, I'll stop sticking my nose in now - think I hear the boss coming. See you all soon!

Let's all agree on Frida then.
However I am no longer married to pberg because I don't want to go to Mauerpark as I am not in favour of the charity the stalls are supporting.

The only other idea JTW and I had was the much-mooted dim sum brunch. It seems good friends is by consensus the safe option. Votes for this over frida? But I'm cool with Frida, too.
