Today at 11am the
public warning sirens in Bavaria will be tested. A wailing tone lasting one minute will be blasted out without warning. In case of an emergency this tone means “Turn on your radios and wait for public announcements.
Another important warning tone in case of fire or similar incidents is a steady tone lasting twelve seconds then twelve seconds silence, repeated twice.

What if you don't have a radio because you don't want to pay
GEZ?

Then you deserve to die anyway, I'm sure there is a subclause in the
GEZ guidelines.

The three testicled Russian oil billionaire Whojanickabollockoff said he's pay 10 Roubles for Bayern MĂĽnchen cos they are a bunch of parvenu knackers.

cool I think I'm going to over react and panic just for the fun of it.
The men in white coats will be right along.

Now would be a good time to have a fake news site with news that somewhere has just launched nukes at Europe and panic in the office just before they come on.

Just heard on the radio that there'll be a siren test at 11am throughout Bavaria, and will last about a minute.

Some test. Should we panic if we didn't hear a siren, or just go to the ENT doctor?

Right then, where are they? I can't hear anything. How would I know if we were being bombed or something?

Quiet here in Newhouses, have we been freed from the yoke of Stoiber and Munich is now an independent City-State like Berlin or Hamburg?

Strangely the fire-alarms were tested at work here (a Nottinghamshire council) at precisly the same time. Does this mean Nottinghamshire has been appropriated by Bavaria?

Sarabyrd, sorry, didn't see your thread on the subject - I only checked the Munich sections. (Edit: OK, the threads have been merged and have ended up in the "Munich news" section)

ah, from deco's second link:
QUOTE
so nobody currently online is near a nuke plant?

@ bengreen: According to the
FAQ info, there's currently no standard set for the testing of the disaster warning alarm, although they're aiming for once or twice a year. It's not compulsory for a town to have such an alarm, although those near nuclear power stations, for example, receive state funding to install them.
The fire station warning alarms are tested on a Saturday once a month or every two months.
QUOTE
