Entertainments for children at the Oktoberfest

Well this is my last year in Germany and would like to experience OKtoberfest. This will be my first time and I just need some tips.
First I wanted to know if there's anything for the kids to do. My friends and I have kids under 10. While I drink away till there's no tomorrow, will there be some activities for them. If not then maybe Ill find a sitter.
Im gonna take a train from Frankfurt to Munich. Cheapest is 180 euro roundtrip. Or I could just take a bus tour from Ktown. Is it gonna be difficult to take the train at 2200-2400 at night?

There's a huge fairground as well as the beer tents, so kids should be ok, but bring plenty of cash, 'cos cheap it isn't.

They have family friendly days at the Fest for people with kids, with reduced prices on the fair i think. Tuesdays during the day as far as i know.

As bluedave said, Tuesdays are family day at the Oktoberfest so most of the rides are half price then. Best time to go if you want to bring the kids.

I think as a parent you have to balance whether or not to go for cheap but 100% more stress or pay full price when it isn't like a zoo. On "Family day"(Tuesdays) the kiddies rides are jammed, the queues longer and the stress levels higher...

Here's a link to the Oktoberfest website about the big rides, only in German I'm afraid, the English version doesn't mention the rides, I guess they think the English speakers are only there for the beer!

Why would you bring children to a city almost 300 miles away to a location where more than a quarter million people at any given time are packed together tightly and are either drunk or currently attempting to become so?

Get someone to watch the kids for you. It's nothing that special for them.
