Meet up at Hegarty's pub in Bremen

Hi there, i find myself banished from Munich to Bremen tonight and was thinking of wandering down to Hegartys for a swift half or two and to watch the Champion's League footy.

Anybody else from Bremen heading down there? Would be nice to meet some TT'ers from oop north.

Hmmm, obviously Bremen not a hotbed of TT activity then eh?

I used to live in Bremen and many many years ago I worked in that same pub! At the time I was there it was the best pub in town but I am not so sure nowadays. They also own a pub called Paddy's Pit which is by the Bahnhof.

But if you want the best Guinness in Bremen then go the Irish Pub Schnoor I honestly only had nicer in Dublin. Also I think it is a pub that really does reflect an actual pub and not like any of the Irish pubs in Frankfurt.

I always found plenty of people to chat to in all those pubs

I turned up at Hegartys on tuesday night to find the pub full of approximately nine million Werder Bremen fans packed wall to wall in there.

Upon eventually reaching the bar, i enquired as to whether they might have one screen showing either Liverpool or Chelsea and was advised that, whenever Werder are playing, the whole pub is given over to their fans. Fair enough i suppose, take the money where it is.

I admit, i did feel a little nervous about wearing a jacket with " England " across the back and the 3 Lions Crest on the breast too

Sanity prevailed and i drank my beer and buggered off back to my hotel.
