Hi,
My fiance has been working really hard recently, and is under alot of stress, i would like to take him away for the weekend, to a romantic, wellness hotel, i have done a search on Google for some places in Germany/Austria, and have found some nice places, but i was also wondering if anyone has any places that they could recommend. I'm not really bothered too much about the location, etc, just somewhere that is within reasonable driving distance, i.e 3-4 hours max.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
Sarah
Is the
Alpenhof Murnau on your list, by any chance? I would certainly recommend it, plus it's very close to Munich. Mind you, it's a Relais & Châteaux hotel so it's rather expensive.

Hi,
I can recommend Hotel Gams,

Not cheap either, we were lucky because we won the stay in a lottery.

Try Kitzbuhel Austria. It's a lovely location and there are several wellness hotels there. Not to mention only an hour+ away.

Another vote for Gmünden from me - and that's on a
previous TT thread. Bled (Park Hotel has stunning lake views and use of their own pool or the spa across the road in the Hotel Golf) or Ljubljana in Slovenia would be another choice, slightly further away but doable.
Bad Wiesee and Tegernsee also worth a look (use search for find tips).

I can recommend Schloss Mühldorf near Linz in Austria (about 2.5-3 hrs from here)...we got married there in July and it was awesome...nice grounds, nice rooms with a huge bathtub (atleast in the honeymoon suite), very friendly staff (kept the Bride happy all day

and the best breakfast buffet I've ever seen (doesn't say much though since I usually stay at cheap places, but still, really good).

Schloss Elmau used to be nice. I know they had a fire and have been renovating since, but if it's up and running again it could be a good option, especially as it's not far away.

A most fantastic hotel to which we went to for years.
Vigilius - Lana, Sud TirolYou have to take a cable car up the mountain and once there the architecture, food, scenery is all stunning. Really very highly recommended and also has a spa, pool, sauna/steam room, and private cinema.
