alimess

Ladies feel free to post your pictures... Renia I count on you... ;-)

In Germany it is usually against the law to take, post online, or publish pictures of police, security guards or other such people (Ticket inspectors)
showing their face. If posted or printed the faces must be blurred/blacked out, as they are in Police raid at The Garden nightclub.
Renia
Oh jeez... the ones I took last year where mainly of the backs of their heads... and blurry to boot LOL

I can´t find the thread though...

Another trip to Zooziez is probably in order.

WTF. Security guys? These people are withoout a doubt the densest idiots on the planet, they rate below cops for a modicum of savvy. I should have saved my uniform from the Army then, if thats what you need. wink.gif

Written like someone who's only ever been around them either as part of a problem or in trying to get some sort of exception that no one else is entitled to.

Most of these guys are the fucking picture of restraint. They have to be there some 8-16 hours a day dealing with nothing but one pile of drunks after another, with the only breaks coming in the form of blocking the doors and taking all the abuse that one fuckwit after another throws their way because they're doing their job keeping the tents within the safety limits. They're fast as hell to protect the workers and to break up fights. They're a joy to watch when a bunch of neo-Nazi Scousers get busy in the Pit.

Try being nice to one some time. Don't interrupt him if he's doing something, but if you're standing around and so's one of them, try talking like a normal human being to one. Better yet, offer to bring him some water. They often can't leave their posts and when the place is full and hot, a glass of water is welcome relief.

I know dozens of security guys by name, and each year I'm introduced by them to their mates and no cow-orkers. I've never had a problem with them. In fact there are times I think they don't act harshly enough.

woof.
Moonboot
there was a major (broken mass glasses in the face etc) brawl at the next table to ours last year within 2 seconds of it happening 10 security dudes descended upon it and diffused it immediately.
think in general these guys do a good job considering what they're up against.
and the fact that some of em are kinda cute is a bonus really biggrin.gif

Been there done that! 8-16 hours, ha try being the picture of restraint being stoned, abused and scraping dead bodies off a street in Belfast and that a total of 16 months 24/7. And I´ve had to have a word in the shell-like of one or two because they are arrogant little twats. Woof that you bun.

Those photos are lost somewhere in an Oktoberfest thread... unless they were deleted for said above reason. I will look later when I have time smile.gif .

And thanks to BD for his rant, I fully agree, not being a trouble maker myself!
hams
Having dealt with a charming policeman this weekend, I'm very much looking forward to some authoritative action. biggrin.gif
Renia
Are women often thrown out of tents for bad behaviour? Anyone witnessed that kind of savagery?
DDBug
I think one woman we know might have been removed from a tent. rolleyes.gif

Thanks for that link alimess - it reminds me that I still have to buy the push-up bra that I never got around to last year. smile.gif
Renia
LOL, nice memories. Little did I know I could have been in big trouble for taking those photos (outside Schottenhammel btw in case anyone is looking for the same guys this year wink.gif ) .
hams
Why big trouble?

@Renia - shall we go hunting? wink.gif
Renia
Big trouble actually not for taking the photo but for posting it on TT apparently (see DK´s post).

Go choke on one. Having volunteered for service knowing full well you could be sent to a hellhole in no way gives you any right to act like a twat &/or slag off others doing an unsavoury job. Are they as hard as those who were stuck in Belfast in 1983? No, but they're fucking civilians, unarmed, with severe restrictions on all actions they're allowed to take.

It'd be fucking champion if they weren't needed, but they are. They keep the place safe and make it a little more tolerable, and when you show them some basic respect for doing the job they're doing -- making your experience better (unless you're one of the fucks causing trouble, like the Mancunians with the swastika tats and full back portraits of Hitler who inevitably show up at the HB each year) -- you might enjoy yourself a bit more. They're just some guys just trying to do a job, and fair fucks to them for doing it because I sure as hell wouldn't want to be in their shoes, and I wouldn't set foot near the Wiesen without them there.

woof.

I think I have a picture of the men in blue.
They do'nt look that convincing though ! ph34r.gif
alimess

Well done girl!! I didn´t dare...
hams
Haven't seen any good looking ones so far as compared to last year. Will take a closer look in the coming days. wink.gif
alimess
Renia, it's not too late... wink.gif

Agree with Hams, the harvest was dissapointing this year...
