Let's get drunk, venue TBD, Saturday 3.Nov.2007

the vicar
Yes, it time to come together and rejoice, my children. My choice would be Saturday October 27, Zaasch Duck Club around 7.00pm...oh alright...myself and the Rector would be prepared to travel a bit further. Let's say Halle/S as it's central for all towns, however we're open to suggestions.
krostitzer
Pity I never got to meet you in the Flesh during my stay in Halle, Vic. Hmm. Sounds good but I have someone flying in the next day. Ever make it to Berlin?

Let me know when you have perfected the homebrew.
krostitzer
The housing project where I have my atelier just brewed a batch. I am going to start up soon as the resident brewmeister, a trained professional, is heading off to frothier pastures. Big shoes to fill, indeed. Pray for my success, glory be. Don't know if I'll ever perfect homebrew but it'd be cool to have you over and test it out on you.

Pray for my success

If you want me to sacrifice a goat or virgin to the Gods of Beer, please give me the nod.
krostitzer
Oh, Vic! Please spare the virgins. Their scarcity in the region is alarming. Goats, I don't give a fuck. Kill them for better beer.
malikos
How about you guys travelling that bit further and coming to Dresden.

We could have a joint meetup halfway between Leipzig and Dresden.
the vicar
That's sounds a cracking idea. How about Colditz? Tour of Castle followed by drinks?
malikos
I will try to organise things from the Dresden end.
What day do you have in mind ???
End of October seems ok for me, a Sunday or Saturday ???
the vicar
Maybe October 20th which is a Saturday. (Then Ur-Krostitzer would have to think of another excuse for not being able to come.) But whatever suits really. I can organize the tour of the castle. (they do one in English). I'll bring the rector and some of the sisters. I may have some room if anyone is coming from Leipzig/Halle end.
krostitzer
Colditz, sounds cool.

Actually I was off a month on the date. Whatever's fine with me, but Saturday is better, I can't miss wine and crackers!
malikos
Sorry all, can we change the dtae from October 20th just remembered my Mum is visiting that weekend,
what about the following Saturday.
malikos
Also October 20th is the Rugby World Cup Final, so i have to find a way to ditch my Mum.
the vicar
Ok stuff Ur-Krostitzer. Saturday, 27th October it is then? Anybody else interested?
Colditz Castle as meeting place?

krostitzer
I'll try to make it!

that castle looks more like a nuthouse than a castle.

I'll try to make it!

I can give you lift from Halle train station and back, if you need it.

Nuthouse

- Don't worry the inmates don't mind tourists wandering through the wards.
Darkknight
Well if you going to make it a Universal meetup, I think your missing some Munich people, so I'll throw myself into this, If I'm off on this weekend Ill consider going.
the vicar
Ok, sounds good. Colditz is nice but a bit on the sleepy side. The Castle is worthing visiting especially if you know it's history. You can see the tunnels the prisoners dug, other escape routes and the museum has some quite interesting stuff in it from its time of being a POW camp. I'll organize some quality drinking hole in the centre of town for anyone who manages to escape from the castle.

Once we have few people coming I'll phone the castle and set up the tour for around 3.00pm?

No thanks. Train's too expensive. Mitfahrgelegenheit is the only way to fly. But maybe .. hmmm.. maybe I'll fold the nuthouse into a trip to halle..
the vicar
Keep me informed of your plans. I'll deprive a couple of the sisters of any sexual activity before event so that you'll be warmly received.
krostitzer
May i request Sisters Mary, Desiree, Mona and Isabelle? their spirituality knows no depths.

and i will likewise go on a fast from my usual behind-the-altar shenanigans in preparation for our retreat. After all, wine and crackers has not been the same without your leadership, Vic. we always end up playing twister and listening to motorhead.

Desiree

I'm afraid, she's a bit tied up at the moment.

straker
is this still going on?

i am tring to get some time freed up to come

will no by monday if it is approved

then i could take 4 more people with me
the vicar
Um...problems my end now. Any chance to move it to Saturday, November 3?
krostitzer
Sure, just make up your mind. I'm saving my energy for the sisters.
the vicar
Right I've made up my mind. I'm all for November 3 and the sisters too. Sign up here if anyone else is interested.
malikos
Ok, i am also in for the 3rd Nov.
the vicar
Ok, great. I think I can russle up a few more this end.
the vicar
The trip is definitely on. I think we've got 7 people from parish coming so far. Can you get to Halle around lunchtime Marty?
krostitzer
fresh mutton and gruel from the monastery?
the vicar
I was thinking more of bundling you into the back of the bus and whisking you away to the depths of the Saxon countryside. One of the sisters may have to sit on your lap.
the vicar
The tour of Colditz in English starts at 2.30-4.00pm on 3rd November. Anyone who wants to come along, please contact me so I can let Colditz know how many people to expect. Price is about 5€.

After the tour, the plan is to pile into local pub and to play Colditz the board game. As it's my game I'll be the German guards. And just to make it more interesting I've included more "shoot to kill" cards and less "talisman" cards. Colditz Castle under the Vicar's management is escape proof.

krostitzer
cool...
the vicar
Despite the poor attendance from Berlin and Dresden. The Leipzig team made it to Colditz. Crap mobile phone recorded the event.
