Strange question here - need to put together an English-language German Employment Contract. Anyone here have a good sample?

Seriously folks, get Copernic Agent Basic and install the German as a second language option. Here are some links to standard verträge.
http://www.formular.de/http://www.standardvertraege.de/http://www.vertrag.de/http://www2.vertragscenter.de/vertrag/busi...ch-englisch.jspThe free simple ones can be easily translated. The ready made is about €50.

Hi TT,
I am trying to put together a good freelance contract for my company. Does anyone have any examples they can send me in German or English?
Germany / EU would be preferable.
Thanks
Lex

unless you're working illegally you still are supposed to have some sort of written agreement with your company. The company is also supposed to report what they pay you to the finanzamt. Do you really not have anything?

Bullshit. They are supposed to report for taxes obviously, but you don't have to have a written contract.
No, not for any of my jobs...and I'll take that as a personal insult, thanks.

wasn't meant to be an insult man...
that's insteresting, every place I've worked for even if it was a one off deal had a contract. I was told that's the way it had to be by one of the many -amts here in Nuremberg. Then again it was in German so I might have misunderstood.

A verbal contract is every bit as legally binding as a written one under German law. Personally, I would not work for someone if I thought I could not trust his word.

Hello,
My name is Ray, I am living in Dresden, and plan to be here for a few more months. I have found an employer willing to hire me as a freelance English instructor. I went to the local office to get registered, with a letter of intent from my future employer, but was told that, in addition to proof of insurance, and a photograph, I also needed a contract.
I am wondering if anyone out there has any idea of a what such a work contract should look like, or where on the web I can find resources on work contracts.
Thank you,
Ray
