That would be very sad indeed.

The British press not reporting it that way yet but if he wasn't involved , given that the crash was 5 hours ago, somebody would have heard from him by now.

I'm watching a news gathering service pulling up reports from as far as New Zealand and while I admit it's not conclusive, it doesn't look good.

It's worse. They're reporting that his 5-year old son died with him in the crash: Rally champion Colin McRae dies with son in helicopter crash

Am very very sad about McRae and his son, very sad indeed. Didn't hear until late last night, he really was a great and kind man who I met quite a bit during my time with Ford Europe. David Coulthard's comments on the BBC link are correct, his wife has lost a husband and a best friend and her son as well. Terrible, it is bloody terrible.

Spoke to my sister in scotland last night who said that it in the press there is was reported that the son's young friend and a friend of Colin McRae also did in the crash. Tragic!

My friends in Lanark tell me that people are laying flowers and stuff at his house. I feel really sad for his family and that of the little boy who was only visiting his friend.

However, not sure I would allow my kid to go in a helicopter so his friend's daddy can view a car in a village that is only 25 mins drive by car.

Those darn helicopters are simply dangerous.
