hey guys,
as modern social life hinges almost entirely on having a little phone in your pocket, i have a question: does anyone know of a place in hamburg that sells used and/or prepaid handys? or just a good handy joint in general? i'm not quite sure where to go for a phone. going straight to Tkom or Vodaphone generally seems more expensive and I'd like to avoid it if possible.
best,
stefan

it depends on how long you plan to stay in germany ...
if you are staying for long then you could get a vertrag(contract) for 2 years or so. Then you get most of the mobile phone for free or for less than 20 euros.
for prepaid you can get phones from saturn , media markt for less than 70 euros but those phones are locked so you need to unlock them manually coz I think its illegal to unlock phones to use other sim.

thanks for the tips guys. i wound up buying a cheap unlocked phone from a turkish shop near the
hauptbahnhof and then going with the Lidl 'fonic' sim card with a rate of 9,9 cents/min. seems like a good deal so far.
