So I loaded up some DON FM to my phone last night and I was wondering if anyone else in their early 30s used to drive around London listening to the Don. "105.7 - taking you to heaven".

Full of annoying Muttering MC's, Shoddy Shouts and pinky & perky vocals, but the music is good and it takes me baaaaack. Fantastic stuff.

So, did anyone else here listen to The Don?

I also remember Red Apple(?).

Ahh them were the days. Name your favourite oldskool pirate stations and reminisce about them here!

I always wondered why there wasn't more pirate radio in Munich what with Radio Stoiber Bayerische Rundfunk and the commerical stations beging generally so crap.
Transmiters have come down in price in hear and <cough> one can allegedly fund it through a few parties.
Stick it in the lift shaft in a tower block on Bunny Mountain and away you go.

Anybody here remember snuggling down under the bedclothes and fiddling with the knob of their trannie (that might not mean what you think it does, MT) until the faint crackling sound of the good ship Mi Amigo comes over the airwaves? Some DJ talking about how the ship is leaning at about 30 degrees while being lashed by a storm, or how they just had to risk their life climbing the mast to fix the transmitter. Radio Caroline - those were the days of the real pirate stations.

Aye but they went on to be super DJs on BBC Radio 1 and shizzle innit.
