Hi! I am new to the forum- I need your help!
I am due to move to Germany at the end of September 2007 and I still havent found anywhere to live! I am a British female and require a place to rent for 6 months until end of march 2008. I don't mind if its in a flatshare, lodging with a family or studio apartment- anything! Ideally I need somewhere in north Nuremberg, Erlangen or Herzogenaurach and it must have a good wireless broadband connection.
Thanks for your help!

"Doppelpunkt" is a free mag full of event dates etc. for the region. They also have classifieds online: Go to "Kleinanzeigen" (classified) first, then click "Wohnen" (apartments to let/wanted). Mostly flatshare and small students' flats there... They usually update on a daily basis.

You may also want to check the classifieds in the local newspaper online.

Looks like you are going to work for Adidas or Puma (Herzo...)? So Erlangen should be the better choice for you. It is closer and public transport lines to Herzogenaurach are served more frequently. As far as I know there even is a direct bus line which takes you from Erlangen to Herzogenaurach in about 50 minutes.

Yeah if you're working in Herzo you might want to live close to there. It's only reachable by bus.

Erlangen is close, but it's going to be expensive. As for living in Nuremberg though, if you are working in Herzo or Erlangen there is no advantage to being in Nuremberg- North. All of the trains and buses leave from the center of the city anyway so you'd actually have to walk back down to the centre.

Try the sudstadt or the altstadt. The sudstadt is the cheapest and as long as you are within a 15 minute walk of the hauptbahnhof you are in a good location. The Altstadt is full of people and you'll have plenty to do. The best thing is just to come for a few days and walk around looking for "zu vermieten" signs.

Thanks for the top tips Lexicon!

Fortunately I have just secured a place to live in Herzo which is great news! Will defo consider moving into those areas you mentioned in Nuremberg once I have found my feet a bit and got used to the lifestyle in Germany...

Thanks again!
