Drinking 70 Mass in 10 days is an achievement to be proud of?
Added to which I would put money on you not managing it if I were the betting type. 7 Mass a day? Every day for 10 days? I can't see it...

If you'd picked a less weedy mate to weigh then maybe, but 70KG / L. Honestly.
You nancy arsed fairy.

I can see it, it's only marginally over 0.5litres per hour.
I can't see the point though.

Considering its effects on your health... this might be impossible because your weight will become a 'moving target'.

I won't sponsor you, but I'll bet you can't do it.
I'll even give you 10-1 odds.
7 mass a night over 10 days - 0.5l per half hour may be do able for a while, but not over 10 days...

Tell you what, if you make it 14 a day in 5 consecutive days, still 70l, without throwing up and succeed i'll pay for the beer.
Is it a bet?
BadDoggie
Sep 11 2007, 2:02 pm
Can it be done? Certainly.
Should it? Probably not.
What's the fucking point of drinking like that at the Wiesn paying 20 times what the same amount of beer would cost at a drinks market? To "do it there"? Bullshit. You'll be so fucked you won't notice anything around you after your first hour or two. You will, in fact, pretty much miss out on what little there is to enjoy there in your quest to do something that many people already do without some sort of "challenge".
Now where did I leave that pic...?
Ah! Here it is:

woof.

Over 500€ in beer in 10 days? You and your friends have a lot of disposable income.

Must be nice.
Want to buy me a beer while you're at it?

Assuming that you will throw up lots of that rather expensive beer - what are the rules? Will you have to replace the quantity lost?
Anyway, it's no more silly a challenge than climbing Everest. Possibly less exciting a story to tell on your deathbed. But only possibly...

It can be done..I know one man in Munich who could do it...its though an issue of time off and money lost. I have 6 Irish Bhoys in Sep 28 and one holds the record amonsgt us for doing 7 mass each day when he was here...but to do it for ten days I doubt possible, but anyhow they only here for 4 days. I admire the thought lad...if you do it man I will certainly take me hat off to you...

Sure, it can be done, but it kinda ruins the fun of the O'fest!
If someone else is picking up the tab if I do it, then maybe.
But forcing yourself to make the 7L a day, at least for me, just kills it.
I have little doubt, that I or someone else could do it, but it would basically be sacrificing the Wiesn for it. No thanks

Allowing for the fact that a Maß raely contains a whole litre, you're probably looking at 8 Maß a day - even more expensive!

Just a thought...
A radio station in the USA sponsored an idiotic drinking stunt called "Hold your wee for a wii" which wound up killing a mother of 3 from water intoxication.
She entered the contest to win the toy for her kid.
I'm not a doctor, but wondering if drinking too much beer could cause something similar?
>>On January 12, 2007, Jennifer Strange, a 28-year-old woman and a mother of 3, from Rancho Cordova, California, was found dead in her home by her mother hours after trying to win one of >>Nintendo's Wii game consoles in KDND 107.9 "The End" radio station's "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" contest, which involved drinking large quantities of water without urinating.

10 day of beer? No problem, just a risk of dying...
Of course this has nothing to do with water intoxication - why not talk about arsenic or mercury next?

Sep 17 2007, 6:47 pm
Whose going to keep count. because after 5 maß it's easy to forget whether you had the 6th one let alone the seventh! I doubt very much you can do this for 10 days on the trot, you'll be so wrecked after the 4th or 5th day you'll be falling asleep in the tents.

This means you can't go to the toilet before you have taken all 70 liters though.

The only way to do this in my opinion, would be to start at 9:00 and drink 1 mass per hour until 16:00.. then go home, eat a big meal and drink a load of water, and pass out no later than 20:00. Possibly you would be ok the next day. The whole idea is not very intelligent in any case.

You have booked the yellow drunk wagon in advance haven´t you?

Or maybe you could lease it for 10 days. Cos you are going to need it. Who the hell weighs 70kg anyway?

Sep 18 2007, 10:41 am
Actually you could get by with only 66 liters of beer. (You have to adjust for the specific gravuty of the beer).
Definitely possible, and would be an achievement.
Ignore the naysayers and go for it!

LOL@Hutcho, yes! He is probably going to continue if he does not die from dehydration. Or he might die like this
woman who died from drinking waterHe can alternatively jump off a building, it is less painful for his body.

You can easily drink 7 liters of liquid a day without dying. That will be the least of his worries. I liked the challenge someone put forward last year better, which was drink one mass in every major tent in one day. It's not so much of a marathon, but really tests your drinking power. Putting away 7 mass isn't really hard. I know people that could drink that much and not even be so drunk afterwards. Doing it 10 days in a row however is undoubtably dangerous.

Sep 24 2007, 3:02 pm
I think this can actually be done and I'll argue that the longer you go, the easier its going to be to finish.. in fact, I'd bet it'd be even easier if you spent three day's before the challenge binge drinking and what not to build up your tolerance to the effects, and by the time you start it'll take you seven mass just to get drunk at the Wies'n! That said.. it's pretty expensive and I'd rather do it in the English Garten where I can bring my own beers along!
Lassie
Sep 24 2007, 3:14 pm
I've just re-read the challenge and I think it's doable. He doesn't mention consecutive days - just 70l in ten days during oktoberfest. Ok he then says 7l a day for ten days, but you could argue this doesn't mean consecutive. So 10 days boozing out of 16 days fest - tough but not impossible!

People here can be so stupid. What's the point? Yes. What's the point of drinking full-stop? At the Wies'n where the beer is more expensive. There is no point yet 6 million people get pretty trashed very year despite there being no point to it.
Give the guy a break. He's young and wants to have fun and do it to the full Maß. Hopefully, he doesn't end up like you lot, miserable behind a computer all day worrying about his mortgage bond. Where's the point to that?

And in other news,
dude drinks 35 litres of beer in four days, and has some interesting side effects.

Best of luck with the challenge, sure it's a crazy thing to do but hell we've all been crazy. Once went on a two gallon challenge but the first 8 pints were 'old peculiar' can't smell the stuff now.
Next year 'll be more difficult. If you and your mate can drink 70 litres in 2 weeks you ain't likely to be only 70ks next year

Oct 5 2007, 11:01 am
geez. I think I've done close to 50 liters.
sat with a bunch of people from Norway and they egged me on to chug a mass. I tried, but I stopped 3/4 in cause of common sense. I know, it's only a 1/4 of a mass left, but I wasn't sure if that was gonna put me over the hilt or not.
The company is paying for everything today so yeah, I'm going to chug a mass. I cannot drink this much during Oktoberfest and not be able to say that i've never chugged a mass at Oktoberfest.
Is "chugging" like "quaffing"?
If so, where's the problem? That's just like "down in one" except you spill most of it down your front, isn't it?
Ratbert
Oct 5 2007, 11:30 am
I definitely do not recommend chugging a mass. I used to play anchor on our uni boat racing team and I can assure you that chugging two Molson Canadian back to back is child´s play compared to chugging almost a litre of 6% Oktoberfest beer.
