"Welcome to a day of rugby"
How would you say that in German?
How would you say it in English?
Sorry, but I'm not sure what context you want to say this in.

I think its some kind of special international rugby one day event so it just for a banner or something.
I thought maybe
Wilkommen zum Rugby Tag ???

You can't really put it that way in German. How about "Heute geboten: Rugby! - Herzlich Willkommen" (Today's specialty: Rubgy - Welcome)
I am assuming he will hang this banner up in a pub or similar.

More likely a large famous stadium, which is why I'm asking the experts.
What about:
Rugby Tag - Herzlich Willkommen!
