Hi,

Its a while since I was last in Germany and I didn't have kids then! Just wondered how I dispose of nappies etc. Also what about things such as crockery/cutlery etc? We've inherited some stuff we don't need/want hence the latter question.

Cheers Wys.

crockery/cutlery/Nappies = Normal trash
Anything with an electric plug needs to goto the Bauhof for special handeling.

If your looking for more detail on other items, use the search function.

Thanks for the quick reply! :-) By 'normal' do you mean the yellow sack?

Cheers Wys

If they're in good condition maybe you could take them to a charity shop instead of throwing them away.

'Normal' rubbish is usually in the dark grey/black bins. Our bags for that just happen to be green.

You could give it away for free on here. ph34r.gif

The yellow sack here is used for recylable rubbish, like tin cans, yoghurt cartons etc. If it's the same system up your way, then none of those things belong in the Yellow sack. I know cutlery can be recycled but you shouldn't put it in there, chuck it all in the normal rubbish bin, or take the cutlery to the local rubbish tip (Wertstoffhof) and throw it in the scrap metal bin.

Thanks for the info Allershausen. Thats what I suspected and told hubby but he was having none of it! tongue.gif

Fallen Angel - did think about that but I'm in Bremen and not many people seem to be 'up' here. Also it really is rubbish. To put you in the picture... 3 guys lived here before us and seemed to think that hundreds (ok lots) of strategically placed air freshners (even the fridge !) made up for not actually cleaning!

Cheers Wys...
