Hi

I've recently moved to Berlin and am trying to get work as a nanny in the afternoons/evenings, but don't know what to expect or ask in terms of pay? Does anyone know what the avergae wage is for a nanny here in Berlin? Obviously it will depend on the hours so roughly per hour would be great if anyone has any advice on what to expect.
Thanks
TobyG.
Depends on your qualifications of course. Something between 7 and 15 Euro from what I normally see on the bulletin boards.

Sometimes it's not hourly, if you're live in. I think often live-in nannies are given free room and board, and then an allowance on top of that of a couple hundred Euro a month, depending on how much you are working.

If you are a qualified nanny you can make alot of money. I have seen jobs where you make 1500-2500 euros a month, plus free room, board, car use etc etc etc. If you are not, expect about 8-10 euros an hour.

Unless you have qualifications there won't be much chance of getting a live in job other than aupairing. Which I highly suggest against.

I hope this original person who posted in "SEPTEMBER" has figured things out in the meantime.
