Hello, all. I moved to Munich a few months ago and am new to TT. Interested in making friends. I'm working at the LMU and love living so close to the Englischer Garten. I'm interested in hearing about other interesting places to go jogging. A classically trained amateur trumpeter, I'm very slowly adapting to Bavarian marches, which have their own charm. I had already learned to adore Bavarian beer in the States and have now ascended to the third level of beer heaven. Are there any higher levels? Cheers, James

The vast majority of Germans prefer non-Bavarian beer ("Dünnbier") ... Pils in the north and east, Altbier, Kölsch etc. in the Rhineland
Don't listen to miwild, doesn't know what he's missing, "thin beer" , pils is bitter and kölsch glasses are too small.
Welcome to Munich. Home of the world's biggest beer bash for a reason.

Hey James, welcome to the self-proclaimed beer capital of the world (mostly in Belgian ownership). If you want to transcend to a higher level of beeriness join the Toytown do scheduled for 30 September noon in the Hofbräu tent. And prepare for a mulled wine interlude during the four weeks preceding Christmas.

Can one make a fastion statement wearing certain style or color of socks with sandals? And are socks with sandals just a summer thing?

also James that beer looks a bit small, so together with the socks, you are on a looser and you will need more introduction to Munich beer to attain higher levels of beer heaven. the down side is the interlude at Christmas is known in TT as "Pots of Evil"

At least you can really blow your own trumpet, that'll be a first around here...

@Scogs: About that beer, as I walked back down toward town, the beer caught up with me before I made it all the way down through the grape vineyards. I was doing my part to water this year’s harvest until a couple came suddenly and I wound up pissing myself trying to disappear expeditiously.
