1 day before my birthday, this is excellent news!
what's the best ubahn route to the Tonhalle? I need to buy Arcade Fire tickets as well...I'm in
Milbertshofen by the U2 stop

Easiest way for you would be to go down to
Hauptbahnhof on the U2 then across to
Ostbahnhof on one of the S-Bahns. The Tonhalle is in the
Kultfabrik complex.
Should be going, hopefully.

I would love to goto this show. How do you get tickets for this? I'll be missing the show in Indianapolis so maybe I'll catch this one.

Either Muenchen-ticket, or by going to one of the ticket agents in
Marienplatz - the orange booths with the tickers.

i was there. maybe it was just because i was mad tired and had been working for days at a time and i just wanted to do the abbau and get to bed, but i found the show pretty dull. i mean, it was very chilled out, VERY relaxed, and im sure with a spliff beforehand it would have been beautiful, but sober and tired it just made me...more sober and tired.
hes deaf in his right ear apparently. and he winges about having different microphones at his guitar and piano spots when theyre actually the exact same make and model. thats all i got. they were jamming a few very metal numbers before they opened the doors.
quote of the night
ryan adams: "dont worry, weve got a load more depressing music for you this evening."
crowd: "woo."
me: "snore"

I thought the show was pretty lack luster especially compared to last year's, although the second set was much better than the first. The deafness in his ear was definitely bothering him. Unfortunately he was almost through the entire first set, which he mechanically went through, to explain what was going on. Although he said he couldn't hear the music, he could hear whatever someone shouted to him.
He was much more animated during the second set, even chatting between songs. Still I was grateful that he was professional and played for quite a long time, even had a pretty long encore. Especially since he clearly was not enjoying having to play under these circumstances. I would definitely see him again if he comes to Munich again.

It's unfortunate it was acoustic only, that guy can wail.
