Just got to Berlin and was wondering if there are any Spurs fans about that were getting together, or would be interested in getting together, to watch the derby on the 15th? Maybe you could recommend a good place to watch it too? Strictly no Gooners!

Oh no, I hate to think who might post a rude message after me!!!
Spanightickle might regret writing such an agressive message about no Gooners!!!

I'm sure that Mark will be showing the game at Hairy Mary's... I would have loved to join you watch Spurs kick ARSEnal's ARSE but I'll be watching a far more important game in Paris on the Friday: England v South Africa rugby world cup!

Well, you go to Hairy Mary's and I shall stay well out of your way. And welcome to Berlin BTW. How very nice and friendly of you to exclude other friendly ex pats before even meeting any of us. Enjoy your stay...

I think he just doesn't want us there as he knows his team are going to lose and wants to sulk in private and not get the pee taken! Bless...

Jeez, bit touchy here aren't we?! If Gooners want to show up that's fine, it'll only end in tears! So, is this Hairy Mary's a good place to go? Is it cheap? Does it have a lot of screens etc?

Now that would be telling wouldn't it
Where to watch televised football (soccer) are some suggestions as to where to watch. I wouldn't call Hairy's a sports bar as there's a telly in the corner. But for a few (too many) drinks it's great

I think we could have a problem. It appears that New Zealand are taking on Portugal at the egg-chasing event in France at the same time as the derby. Can these places show both events at the same time only I can't really carry an argument with a rugby crowd over who decides what's on the telly! I'm torn between
Oscar Wilde's and the Emerald Isle.

I can call the Emerald Isle and ask if she will reserve a table for me (and maybe some friends = no Spuds

) The
Oscar Wilde can, as far as I am aware, show more than one event at once. I have never watched footie there as it outta my way! As long as the game is shown on Premiere it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm also a Spurs fan but won't be in Berlin for the derby, in fact i'll be back here in Frankfurt where I live.. Bit of a random related post, I am off to Berlin this afternoon for some business meetings tomorrow but will be hanging around for the weekend to do some sightseeing and chilling out etc etc.
Saturday is obviously a pretty busy sporting day what with the rugby and also the international footy, can anyone recommend a decent english/irish pub to watch the England game etc etc?
I am staying in Prenzlauer Berg on fri and sat night.
Any shouts much appreciated!

How close are these pubs to Wilmersdorf?
I will be up there for the Touch Rugby championships and am tempted to slip away to watch Spurs get a good hiding

I can't believe how many Gooners there are here, what's wrong with all of you! No taste. In response to the Spurs fan above,
Oscar Wilde's would be a good place to watch sport this weekend, I went there today and it's easy to find and pretty big.
Come Spurs fans, get involved, you know we're going to win!

I can't believe how many Gooners there are here,
yes, out of 8 people posting on a topic about spurs v arsenal there are 2 arsenal fans (me and gooner girl) and one with a "soft spot". That's loads that is

.
Your ability with numbers makes you an obvious Spurs fan as only you lot could spend 40 million quid to achieve fewer points than last year!
Anyhow, wilmersdorf and closest place to watch the match...anybody - please (with a cherry on top!)?

Lassie...where in Wilmersdorf? The
Oscar Wilde is
here near Oranienburgerstraße S-Bahn. The Old Emerald Isle is
here close to, erm...well, no S-Bahn. The nearest UBahn is Kottbusser Tor and it's a 5 minute walk. To be honest if you have time to "pop" into town then Oscar Wilde would probably be your best bet. Otherwise I'll save you a seat at the Isle...

Actually, does anyone even know if the derby is on German tv? To my amazement none of the British networks are showing it despite it starting at 12:45pm bst. I tried premiere.de but they don't seem to be showing it and I don't know enough about German TV to check anywhere else.
