Hello !
I would be very interested but i am only a beginner in horse riding (only done it a couple of times before). Is your offer addressed only to experience riders or are all levels welcome ?
if i can participate, that would be great to have more details...
Cheers,
Charlotte

wow... that's a lot of responses lol
ok i try to answer everyone questions at once.
1. it's for all type of riders, beginners are very welcome. however please note, that we do go out to the field and ride. so it's a kinda learning by doing thing. if you haven't ridden at all before you might wanna take a saturday morning ride first. if we have beginners in the group we usually take them on a lead so they feel safer.
2. we meet during the week between 6:30 and 7 pm. get the horses, brush them etc. go ride for about an hour come back to the stable, clean them, feed them. (wednesdays we usually go to a close by pizza place)
3. almost everybody speaks english
4. we are a pretty relaxed group of all ages
please send me a short message if you would like kathy's number since i don't really want to post this information on a public board. i also got the price sheet if you are interested. just send me your email and i can send it to you.

Hi
Thanks for the PM. Can you let me know how much it would cost to go out for about an hour. Also, are there any particular nights you do this? And where are the stables?
I'm away next week, and am planning to go riding in the UK whilst there so it'll be good practice, and when I come back I fully intend to join you.

Can anyone arrange something similar in or around Munich?

the stable is in steinbach/eschborn (sorry bout that... totally missed out about mentioning it) it's down the a66 from frankfurt to wiesbaden.
the stable is called fohlenhof (
www.fohlenhof.de it think) they got directions on their site. the prices change a little. more often you ride the cheaper it is
1 rider per week / 4 rides per month (mon-fri) 85
2 rides per week / 8 rides per month 120
3 times per week or 12 rider per month 170 (as much as you wish)
1 weekend rider per week or 4 weekend rider per month 120 (those are long rides, going for a few hours, sunday rides are more for the experienced riders)
2 weekend rider per week or 8 weekend rider per month 200
single field ride 25
single forest ride (long ride) 50
those two add up to a monthly price if you decide to come more often.
the prices may seem to be a bit high, but i find a very worthy considering that you don't really have to do anything with the horses.
hope this helps

So you pay the money for whatever amount of rides you want but for that you also have to brush the horses down and muck out the stables?
Do you also need to know how to tack them up? That could be a problem for me!
@thunder: there was a thread on
horse-riding facilities near Munich.
I've recommended a stable near Landshut for
guided outdoor horseriding, similar to Elaleyas offer.

yup that's kinda how you do it. I pay 85 at the beginning of the month and after that i can go ridin 4x basically whenever i want during the week.
you have to brush the horses but don't have to muck out the stables. and yes you do have to tack them up, too. but it's easy and there are tons of people to help yea

especially with mustang, he is huge and sometimes i got trouble putting the saddle on. good thing that we got strong guys to help us out lol

@Zee: the problem is the need for the car...I expected this, so probably if someone arranged the trip, the transportation can be managed.

Hi
I'm new to this forum. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place I could take dressage lessons. I am having a difficult time finding a place that has a scholl horse and speaks english.
I had an instructor, but she moved.
Thank for the help

Hi there,
I recently discovered this forum and I am extremely interested in riding. This sounds like a fantastic deal. I was wondering, however, how one gets to the place? I am living in Frankfurt and I was wondering if the U-bahn or a Bus goes out that far? Is it necessary to have a car to get there? I'd really appreciate feed back! Thanks so much!

I'm new to this forum but was wondering how all of this turned out, seems like a lot of fun and wanted to see if it was still happening. Any info would be great as I've never been on a horse and I'm a bit of a city boy. Would love to try something new!

I wish I wasn't broke and the stable were a bit closer! Have been riding since I was 10 and stopped after college due to funds and not having a trusty steed... Missing my sport so much!

Does anyone know of any facilities in/around Wiesbaden?

I would be interested in going out on rides, summer is coming up

Did you guys get a ride organised? I'm back in Germany from April onwards, maybe we can arrange something and I will have a car so if there are lifts needed.
Was on a 2 weeks riding course last summer and I'm looking forward to take lessons once I'm back. It's far too expensive here in London.

Elaleya -- are you still helping to get people connected with Kathy at the stables? I'm interested in getting more information and meeting up for a ride (or two or three or...or...or...)
Thanks!
Jennifer
