Alternative search engines to Google

I've grown a bit tired of Google. Too big, too self-satisfied, blabla.

So I'm willing to give the competition a try.

I'm waiting for cuill to finally go online, quite like exalead.

Any other suggestions?

It may be big, but it's a very sleak, clean and fast website with no ads or images all over the place like many of the others.

Ads and stuff are lost on me - my trusty firefox adblocker takes care of all that. Are there ads and distracting images on exalead, though? Don't think so.

Sorry.. Never used or even heard of exalead or Cuill, so I can't compare them. Just because your browser may block ads and pop-ups
the process of doing so causes your browser work a little bit harder and could slow it down if it hits a site with lots to block. Its best not to
have any content to block in the 1st place. Thus a clean uncluttered site..

google is dead...so shall we start this thread up again...

I sometimes use Yahoo, especially for image searches, if I want to find something different.
