Hand signal used to show you think someone's crazy

German-style, British-style, and others

I was just wondering if you still use the British (for the Brits) finger on the temple, or German wave your hand in your face sign, and if there are any others in this big world?
UrbanAngel
Depends if I'm speaking German or English, innit?
ian
Finger on bottom lip means "dumb blonde". They're crazy!
iain
I use the hand in front of the face for crazy and the finger towards the eye for I really think you are talking shite.
Schotte
i think the wanker sign is a good one for any occasion.

whats the one where you run your finger from throat up and off the chin? is that saying "f^&k off"?
Ruthie
Depends -- if you are talking to the person driving behind you, you kind of have to twirl your finger next to your head, cos they won't see the hand in front of the face (and then you can't see the road)
worm
also if you are a german woman, accompany the 'are you mad' gesture with a fucking horrible nasal 'eeeeeeehhhhhhhhh??? spinnst duuuuuuuuuu??? ' sound. i love that.

For this scenario I use the finger pistol and shoot myself in the temple

I'm in love with the hand in front of the face crazy sign...
Sometimes I even feel it coming spontaniously instead of other stuff, but I hold myself back, because I've been living here for just 8 months !
So I'm self-conscious to use it.

What is, in your opinion, a legit time in Germany before u start using the German crazy sign ?
DanHessen
I usually do it American style and rack a round into my nickel-plated 9mm. Cause I'm all gangsta and shit, yeah. Keeps the tailgaters off my azz.

Isn't that from Friends? I seem to recall an episode when Monica told the others about a sign Ross made up when they were teenagers.
Ruthie
Never saw that friends episode, but it is a valid "f-off" sign -- have seen it used in Italy.

Are any of these legal when you're driving? I know you can be fined big time for giving someone the finger, but I vaguely remember someone (may have been my German teacher) telling us that you could be fined for making any gestures at other drivers.

It would be good to have some gesture to let other drivers know you thing they are stupid/blind/a wanker/ generally just a crap driver without being the danger of being fined for it.
Ruthie
I often do the one (when the other driver is already a totally upset jerk) where you put your thumbs in your ears and waggle your fingers while sticking out your tongue. I am guessing that's not really fineable -- rather juvenile than vulgar.

no, that was two fists together, hitting where the little fingers are.

I like to wave my hand infront of my face alot... it's good.
