Anyone work at Eurocopter in Ottobrunn, do ya?
the Boy From Bozlem
I don’t think anyone actually 'works' there. Although things may have changed. wink.gif
wahoo
I work next door to Eurocopter.
themusicalguy
I'm on the Eurocopter Payrole... Work is another thing entirely. tongue.gif
kitkat64
There is someone on this site with the user name 'isikorsky' who, I think, is working for them.
ray_luv_cider
@schotte: are you in ottobrunn as well? I work there as well.

I do work... At least I am when I'm not browsing the internet, or checking my email, then checking some forums, then checking my emails again then "oh wait the forums might have new posts!". It's a harsh and terrible vicious circle.
RebellionLies
I'm still convinced that none of their helicopters can actually fly.
Dangeross
They use the same trick as David Copperfield.

Though they haven't quite managed to work out how to make them dissappear yet.

I think they can, the engines work anyways, back in the day when I was working thereabouts.

I think it'd be safe to say that one third of TT works in Ottobrunn, another third in the EPO and the rest in proper jobs.
Mariposa
Oh God, that means a third of TT is in my vicinty! ohmy.gif
wahoo
@rebellionlies- their helicopters definitely fly...well, assuming that when the bigwigs at EADS fly in by helicopoter, it is one made by the company.
themusicalguy
Nah, none of the helicopters that land here are Eurocopter ones. And judging by the code that I'm looking at at the minute, they deffinetly don't fly!!!
Schotte
im moving to eurocopter next month! this is anything but encouraging! :0
RebellionLies
Depends what you're doing for them, really.
Schotte
im not really sure. some structural frame stuff on something...

lol vague but about as much as i know!
RebellionLies
That actually might be alright.

Latest (unofficial) news is that they have decided to cancel the plan of moving everyone at europcopter to Donauworth and will be creating about 800 jobs in ottobrunn.

If this is true, expect to see more Eurocopter people on TT

Crobe
RebellionLies
Even if they had decided to move, they still would have spent 10 years umming and aahing over that decision.
the Boy From Bozlem
Moving to Donaudump was quite possibly the dumbest idea ever. Once you have been on the inside then stupid ideas do make sense.

IE couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery wink.gif
Schotte
whats the best way to get to eurocopter with public transport from munich centre area? didnt know a bus had to be involved. cheers
Jenny L
Take the 213 bus from the Ostbahnhof. It will take you directly to EADS/Eurocopter/etc. Not sure which stop you'd need though. I think the 2nd stop.
Schotte
cheers jenny, do u mean from neuperlach sued though?
Jenny L
No. I've never gone to Neuperlach Süd to get to EADS. The one from Ostbahnhof is a works bus- goes straight to EADS without any other stops.
Schotte
ahhh... ya saviour smile.gif

this run all day does it? or do you know when? and though a works bus public can get on ok? no need for pass or anything
Jenny L
I know it runs regularly (every 10 minutes) til 9:00. Then once around 10:00 and at 11:00, then there's a big break in the day and it runs again regularly from 3 on (I think). Trying to download the timetable but it's not working for me at the moment. You don't need a work ID to use the bus. It's open to anyone.

You can look it up on the MVV site here.
Schotte
thanks a lot JennyL, you saved me a lot hassle smile.gif

My husband is going for an interview to eurocopter this week .What is the pay role and what is the cost of living in munich. Will the company give any relocation assistants. At present we are in Hamburg.
RebellionLies
I used to "work" there last year as a Praktikant. Still know a few folks that work there though.

I have heared that one, too. Among the reasons I have heared is that it gets increasingly hard for them to get fresh meat into the company at Donauwoerth. Especially engineers fresh from university.

Can someone please pop into Franck Lagathu's office and give him a clip round the ear. Cheers.

Unless of course someone is taking the piss and just trying to get poor Francky's mailbox filled up with photos of furniture.
georgiagirl
Just send a few mails full of NSFW pics to franck.lagathu@eurocopter.com. Ought to do the trick.

Actually this has been a useful exercise, as it reminded me I needed to reset my forum filters.
HellesAngel
Poor Franck is probably blissfully unaware this is happening under his name.

Edit: Just had a message from above saying the guy is just a wacko and won't be troubling us further.
georgiagirl
Editor Bob lays the smackdown.

Fatality.

Hi All

I am an Aero engineer and working for a non-EADS Aerospace company in Munich. My soon to be wife is also an Aero engineer (basically graduate level but with some experience) and will be joining me Munich in a few months...unfortunately she does not have a job lined up yet. At this point she does not speak any German.

Will it be difficult to find work with Eurocopter or any other Aero company in Munich without German? Could anyone recommend some companies worth looking at?

Thanks
