Hi everybody!!!

Does someone know where can I find nice paintings?? I would like them in order to hang in my living room. I always find Frames but... without a painting in it!!! I would really appreciate your help, thanks!!!

You could simply buy some art prints in museum gift shops and have them framed. Voilà!

Sothebys.

There's an art shop in a passageway just off Sendlinger Strasse (closer to Sendlinger Tor than Marienplatz end).
RakishRam
Exactly. When you start from sendlingerTor to Marienplatz, just cross the arch and it is on your left.

galeria kaufhof at marienplatz has art/paintings department too

depends whether you want paintings or prints tho...

Hornbach actually has some nice prints and paintings for reasonable price as well as frames. Other than that, flea markets would be my recommendation for the more unusual stuff, but can be expensive.

The art shop mentioned above is PGM : they have a branch in the Asamhof (off Sendlinger Str), plus one in OEZ (much smaller) and one in PEP (never been, so dunno re: size).
They have everything from your bog-standard monet water lilies to one-off works by local artists.
Clicky : PGM store locations in Munich.

Or if it's prints you're after, then you could try ordering from poster.de.
I was a bit dubious about ordering prints off t'internet, but I gave them a go, and the prints I wanted came through the post with no bother at all and in perfect condition - IIRC they were cheaper than PGM and had a bigger range available.

Do art schools here have end of the semester shows? The Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts did this every year. I couldn't afford the big paintings back then, but I did buy a bunch of silk-screens and woodcuts. They were really well done (not to mention original) and the students were always excited to sell something they'd made. And the ones I didn't have room for made great gifts.

I paint, not for a living. I would be happy to show you my paintings and sell a few. All originals in Acrylics on canvas unframed. Various sizes.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Check out the following for Limited Edition (only ever 52) Prints.

www.52limited.co.uk

This is a new company with several top quality artists. Unlike other "limited edition print companies 52 Limited prints are strictly controlled, printed in the UK by a member of the fine arts trade guild and come with a letter of authenticity individually signed by the artist. The company also ensures that the artist gets a bigger percentage of the profit than them themselves…something unheard of in the business. There are a couple of Munich based artists as well as artists from the uk.

I am actually one of the founders/directors of the company. If you (or any other Toytown members) are interested in buying any of the prints, use the enquiries link on the webpage to contact me and I will provide you with a promotional code that will give you free postage to anywhere in Europe (a saving of around 110€).

Also, if you are more interested in original works, I know all of the artists personally and can arrange for commissions or the purchase of original work. I live in Munich and am willing to meet anybody who is interested in the company or artists.
