Team sports clubs that welcome casual players

Hello there!! I have been trying to find out for months now where I can join some kind of sport team, preferably hockey but have had no luck whatsoever. I went on the website that someone suggested for hockey in Berlin, but again no luck. I emailed them and have had no reply.

Can anyone assist me in this matter?!?!? Or if not, are there any other sporting teams that we can just go along and join in?

what about touch rugby? this is a fast growing sport in germany and is lots of fun to play. its non contact ie none of the tackling like normal rugby and no previous experience is necessary. for contacts for the Berlin touch team see: Touch rugby in Berlin

it lists 25 hockey clubs in Berlin.

I suggest you search out one close to where you live and just turn up whilst they are having a training session to see what it's like. You could do this for a few clubs until you find one at the right standard, with friendly people and nice facilities.

Marriette, Touch is definitely NOT rugby! just often referred to as touch rugby which unfortunately puts a lot of people off straight away as they have visions of getting squashed by some big fat smelly rugby forward who then proceeds to stomp them on the head or guage their eyes out ... OK, maybe not that severe but you know what I mean
We have a touch club here in berlin and we meet for "Social Touch" on sunday afternoons at 3pm in Volkspark Rehberge. We also enter teams in the various tournaments in and around germany for those who have the competitive urge. The next tournament is actually in Berlin on Sep 15 & 16 so it could be the perfect chance to check touch out.
Anyhow, you are most welcome to come for a look and or try ... we don't squash people very often ... and sudays are a very non threatening way to see what is all about.
