Popkomm lineups are starting to get announced, Australia's got a few acts - if you're into hip hop, Hilltop Hoods, I assume Laura is perhaps a relative of Natalie, and Mark Dynamix is a Sydney DJ. Unfortunately, looks like I may be away those days...

I went to popkomm last year and had a blast. Saw Kaizers Orchestra for the first time. I'll be up for it when the time comes.

Yeah I was there in 2005 and I saw Lucil Lederhosen (Canadian) and Culture Candela (German) and a few other bands.. really fun time, and so cool (and often difficult) to have 3 or 4 bands to choose from at any time.

I'm looking forward to hearing this year's line up.. I'm pretty sure I'll go whether or not I know any bands - it's a great place to discover new stuff.

Later this month the Australian Trade Commission will be hosting the Australian stand (21.507) at Popkomm, September 19-21.

More than eighteen companies will be participating in the Australian Stand at Popkomm and at least nine Australian bands have been selected to perform in the official Popkomm showcase program including Hilltop Hoods, the monsters of Australian hip hop. To present their current release The Hard Road: Restrung, the trio from Adelaide will perform a special show with a string quartet.

Other showcase highlights include Laura Imbruglia, Architecture in Helsinki, Darwin based pop act Worldfly, as well as Australia’s leading DJ Mark Dynamix. The Friday night is dominated by Australian women power – five Australian bands will perform at the “A Celebration of Women in Australian Music showcase.

In addition to these official Popkomm showcases, Austrade is happy to present an “Aussie Night at Berlin’s Hard Rock Café on Wednesday, September 19. All concerts:

Saturday - Steve Bug / Josh Wink @ Watergate.

Anyone interested in any or a messy all of the parties, please get in touch smile.gif

I'm away in for most of it until the Sat eve, but I could be interested in the Mark Dynamix set when I get back.

I'll probably be at Watergate to see Steve Bug. Pity the rest of the Poker Flat crew aren't going to be there, though.
