Cricket match Wednesday 15 August 2007
Tu felix India! Indian Independence Day falls on a mid-week public holiday this year, no one is taking a long weekend thanks to a Brückentag so why not stroll down to Himmelreichstrasse and watch ambitious amateurs from India, Pakistan, Germany and other countries bowl, bat and do it however cricket players do it.
The game, hosted by the India Institute Munich, begins at 1pm and is supposed to last until 5pm.

Always been a close fought affair these games. This year it is a 20-20 game with the use of a white ball. Should be good!

May go along.

I've heard there's some Indian guy playing in this who claims he used to open the batting back home with one of the international stars of the current India cricket team. Rumour has it he's guff though!! May have to come and jeer him on...

This sounds like a jolly good idea, blanket on the ground, roast chicken legs, chilled wine, other people running around and the ocassional "Jolly good show old chap" smile.gif
I will endeavour to make this! Haven´t watched cricket in ages. blink.gif

If anybody has any kids who may be interested in cricket bring them along. There will be a demonstration/intro game played between the innings. The target age is 8-12.

Indeed, if anybody has any kids who are interested in cricket but can't make it along PM me as we have cricket coaching going on in Munich. That includes older kids.

I take it you´ll be easy to find? I hope so! smile.gif

What a fantastic day. I really couldn't imagine that so many people would be interested in cricket in Munich.

We had 18 kids for the coaching plus a few more little ones. Hopefully they all had fun and come back again.

Cheers Pas!

What a great game of cricket! 2 balls 3 runs 1 wicket finished with a six, doesn’t come closer than that! Big sixes, great crowd ,fun all along!

I saw this and thought it was really good. However, there was some guy there who really had no right to be on the field. His bowling was terrible and I think he got hit for a six! Then, he had 2 EASY chances in the field and he dropped both! To top it all off, he was so awful at batting that they MADE him leave the field after stumbling his way to a few runs. I saw him in tears on the sidelines and so they let him come back on near the end!!! He really was an awwwwwful man! Well done to everyone else.
