Woman has pencil removed from headQUOTE (CNN)
A 59-year-old German woman has had most of a pencil removed from inside her head after suffering nearly her whole life with the headaches and nosebleeds it caused, Bild newspaper reported on Monday. Margret Wegner fell over carrying the pencil in her hand when she was four. "The pencil went right through my skin -- and disappeared into my head," Wegner told the newspaper.

Wow... but I dont get why after they removed it now after all these years?!
Well you know how it is, you can never find something to write down a telephone number when you need one.

Indeed, imagine how irritating it would be, knowing a pencil was that close, but yet so unattainable.

Ahh that part was cut out - apparently where it went into her brain was really sensitive and they couldn't do surgery at the time. They removed all but the last 2 cm of the pencil because her brain had grown scar tissue around it.
Kathie, I totally agree. Do you have a pen? No but I have a pencil... wait... maybe not...
If they had left the rubber end just inside her nostril she could have had the basis for a great party trick.

2B, or not 2B? That is the question.
A pun well penned indeed. Chapeau!
