Being new to Hamburg, much appreciated if you guys can help to shed some light here.

I used to have pay tv and regretably had taken it for granted.

I am not sure what type of Cable prog I have on now but there's only 1 English channel (CNN) [there's only so much news one can watch at a given time plus it's not always independent] and a whole lot of yucky porns.

What's the option available for English-language TV .. we're likely not to do Sky as landlord will not agree to dish installation (we're on the attic anyway and no balcony)? I have sort of browse through Kabel Deutschland but unfortunately can't understand a word of it. I am interested to watch National Geographic or Discovery or Animal Planet, the usual American series i.e. Grey's Anatomy & House & CSI, BBC News.

Many thanks
Alik

If you have a computer/internet and someone back home to help you can get a slingbox and broadcast your old cable via the internet.. works pretty good for me.

thanks so much for the info. my partner had discontinued our old sat tv with Showtime .. so no luck to connect it to laptop. btw, it's been 3 weeks now & no sign of internet, my landlord confirmed the company had lost our application & had to start all over sad.gif
since cable tv is part of our rent, i suggested Kabel Deutschland to my landlord .. who has since been very quiet. let's see.
