Berlin Beer Mile beer festival

This coming weekend Berlin hosts The 11th International Berlin Beer Festival along Frankfurter Allee in Berlin Freidrichshain

What they claim to be the “longest beer garden of the world� reaches from Frankfurter Tor to Strausberger Platz stretching along Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin Friedrichshain.

Opening hours:
Friday, August 3rd : 12 to 24 hours
Saturday, August 4th: 10 to 24 hours
Sunday, August 5th : 10 to 22 hours
Admittance: free

International Berlin Beer Festival

It's got a pretty bad rep Deccie: marauding hordes of toerags from Lichtenberg (and that's certainly not intended as a slight against the denizens of L'berg) get wrecked and then start scrapping. At least that's what my German mates who are no slouches always say at least.

A fantastic selection of beer, although you'll have to sort the wheat from the chaff. If only the Bavarians were open-minded enough to try beers from other parts of Germany and beyond.

No it is acutally a good day out especially if the weather is dry. It has a great selection of beers even good beers from outside Germany.

The 4 times I have been there I have never experienced trouble, but then I was there in the afternoon and not until closing time.

You've probably got a point there. I used to live in F'hain, and I always remembered the streets being full of the detritus of lairy beer monsters shouting the odds - this was of course at night time.

I went a couple years and had a good time. Great people watching. Def. lots of freaks and roughnecks. It's about survival when the crowd gets really big.

yep..sounds like a great alternative to October Fest, I am flying up from Munich Friday eveing and going the 'Whole Hog' Saturday.

I wont be a pretty sight Sunday 3pm on the return flight to Munich.

So if you see a bald headed irish git , pissed as a newt , then its me !!!
