What to bring when moving from Oz

And which basic household items to leave behind

Hi

We're looking at which of our household items to pack/leave behind when moving from Australia to Munich. Can anyone offer advice on the following items:

1. TV (basic box, flat screen but not digital). Saw this thread Telecoms set up for a newcomer in Germany but the advice was UK-oriented. Would our t.v. even work in Germany?
2. Booster seat for 5 year-old - Are there specific EU regulations which would make our Australian Standards one "illegal"? I know European carseats are not considered legal in Australia so wonder if the reverse is true.
3. Fridge (4 year old Fisher &Paykel) - have heard rumours that fridges don't appreciate 8 weeks of sea-travel in a container. Can't figure out why if it is correctly packed and cleaned ahead of time.

Grateful as always for advice.

Your fridge will need a haircut after 8 weeks as it will be filled with mildew when it arrives here.

The TV won't work here

Why wont the t.v. work? I thought both Australia and Germany used PAL B/G. Is this no longer the case?

The tv will work as both are pal. Although wouldnt bother bringing it unless can transport fairly cheaply. (will just need the converter for the plug and also aussie tvs dont have a scat cable like they do in germany).
