Moving to Germany in a month, two questions

Apartments in Frankfurt, and getting paid tax free

I'm moving to Frankfurt in a month and need some questions answered. I would appreciate any help anybody can give me on these.

I am a student studying in the UK and have chosen to do a year out in industry. My employer has told me I am going to receive 1000 euros a month stipend. Does anyone know if there is anything I have to do to recieve this money tax free? Can I just set up a German bank account and the money be transfered every month without me being taxed on it?

Another thing is, does anybody know of any good English websites that can help me find an apartment? Either shared or on my own, I'm not really fussed. I don't speak any German so German websites are no good to me.

Thanks for any help you can give me

No, I do not. But please let us know when you find out.

If you do a search (the white box on the top right corner) on taxes you get all these. There's a lot of taxes information in there. Read through it and most probably you'll find what you are looking for. Unless the money you receive is paid to you under special conditions, so not as a salary, you'll have to pay taxes on it.

If you want to find accommodation in english, this is the place.
