AZ-Biergartenfest @ Hofbräukeller - Munich

You have to admire their spirit: The Hofbräukeller came in second in the Abendzeitung Biergarten competition and will celebrate the fact on 4 August 2007 starting 2pm.

They are donating 1000 liters of beer, children will get free ice-cream and lemonade. There will be a bouncy castle and face-painting for the kids, Cagey Strings, a local rock’n’roll and show band, will provide live music.

The beer garden will be the site of some extraordinary cooking: Suckling pig on a spit and Hendlgröstl (chicken pan-fried with diced Knödel and onions) in a huge frying pan.

Sounds like it from their website. But maybe they do it to annoy because the know it teases (and brings business).

Anyone planning on heading there tomorrow apart from Renia? I've never heard the Cagey Strings but apparently they're very good. Just for info - they are also playing at the Augustiner Sommerfest (Arnulfstr.) on Wed. 8th August - I'll be heading there then to check them out.

Will be down there but probably from about 6 on so that all the locals who have just turned up for the freebies will hopefully have had their fill and buggered off.
