Star Trek DVD night

From 3pm Sunday 26.Aug.2007 @ 3 Lions' place

It’s been quite a while since our last Star Trek showing and I thought it was about time to resurrect this. I’m thinking of the 26th August starting from 3pm. Though if a more convenient star date is better, I can change this.

What I have –

TOS – Very little I’m afraid, just a few episodes.
TNG – Season 1, 3, 4, 5, & 6
DS9 – All seasons
VOY – Season 5, 6 & 7
ENT – Season 2, 3 & 4

Obviously there are far too many episodes to start from the very beginning and watch them all. The previous meeting, we just picked episodes out and watched our favourites, which is probably the best idea. Though we can also do the following –

One episode from every series – TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT

Movie Pick – Pick a movie, there are 10 of them (Just make sure its an even numbered move, the odd ones are rubbish mostly. Apart from III which I thought was pretty good.

Alien Night – Basically pick episodes showing only your favourite species.

Q Night – Everything Q orientated.

Before they were famous – A, I didn’t know they did Star Trek night of episodes.

Holodeck – The obligatory, we have nothing to write about so let’s do a holo story.

My place should be big enough, though I know this may be a high demand event!! I’ll put some food on, you just beam yourselves over with a bit of drink. Just no Romulan Ale, that’s illegal! If you're interested, stick your names below and I'll PM my address nearer the time.

p.s. looking forward to picking harry potter up later, mate?

Cool!

is this event only for a sworn in crowd?
Seems as if this has been done before, so maybe you're a bunch of friends?
Would love to join in, but as I don't know where "your place" is, that would be my first question... ;-)
Otherwise, gladly put me on the list!

@jimbo - how come you're picking up Harry Potter later today, I thought it came out tomorrow?
(oh, I guess as I'm getting it through Amazon it's being sent on release day, not arriving on release day)
Jimbo
I'm not - 3 Lions is, and over here (I'm in London) the bookshops are opening at midnight. I believe the same may be happening in Germany.

And for your info 3 Lions is in Munich.
3 Lions
@HK - This is open to anyone. Though as you're in Hamburg, my place might be a bit out of your way, unless you are in Munich that weekend?
Owain Glyndwr
He lives in Munich, so i would guess a little too far for you unless you possess a space ship with warp speed capability or a teleportation device. If you are a true Trekkie, you should have at least one of those things.
Hamburg Koala
upps, silly me,
just saw I got on the wrong Town and you're in Munich and not HH.
So there goes Star Trek for me.
Duh.
Keydeck
You should organise something similar up there. I'm sure there are geeks all over the country.
Hamburg Koala
@ owain: yeah thanx, as not even my brain is up to warp speed this morning you can imagine what my transportation devices look like ...
will have to iniate s'thing like that up here...
prijks
What about a Star Trek babes theme? Seven of Nine, the Vulcan on Enterprise, the girl with the symbiotic thing on DS9 (Dax, maybe?), etc?

Am I really posting to this topic? I guess I am. Sunday at 3 pm kind of interferes with Ultimate Frisbee, though.
ian
Hamburg? Thats somewhere in the Gamma Quadrant isn't it?
People there have prosthetic forehead make up don't they?

DS9 (Dax, maybe?)

Which one? Jadzia or Ezri. Personally I preferred the latter.
tdkwesel
Count me in! Never thought I'd miss Star Trek reruns as much as I do.

I'm in as long as I am not travelling. Hmm.. must also sort out another buffy night soon, as I am only here for the rest of this year.
UpQuark
I'll very likely be there, if only to see 3 Lions' life-size cutouts of Lursa and B'Etor.
3 Lions
Dunno if I can put them on display...will have to see. I'll certainly be able to put my plates up for viewing!! rolleyes.gif
3 Lions
Just gonna beam this topic back up the events list a little!
Johnny Norfolk
I assume this for under 16 year olds.

Why do some people refuse to grow up.
Gen
I've never seen the plates or the cutouts. And I had to look up who Ezri Dax was. I must catch up. I won't make 3pm if it's sunny though...

BAH!!

TNG was, by far, one of the best TV dramas 1987-1994. Period. Just because the storylines were set in space and in the future does not make them less relevant.
tdkwesel
Well I'll be. If you have such a problem with Star Trek why are you even READing this topic!? Hmm???
Aelfwynn
I'm in, too. And I might bring my husband along, too.
3 Lions
OK, one final push before Sunday. This thread cannae take anymore Captain!
JerseyBoy
I forgot that it was this weekend. As a result, I'm only a "definite maybe."
Gen
Aaagh I totally forgot I'm holding a seminar this weekend, it's been booked since last November. How about you look at my calendar first before deciding on the date of the next one? smile.gif Actually Saturdays are better for me, as I hold 8 seminars a year and they always start on Sunday... well just don't watch Dax and Worf's wedding, I still haven't seen it and I'm sure nobody'll want to see it twice in a row.
tdkwesel
So, I will be there and I'm bringing a friend (Gingasnap here on TT) We are going to a movie later in the evening but we will hang out for a few hours. Should we bring anything? (Neither of us have any Star Trek episodes).
3 Lions
Dont worry, there will be plenty of trek to watch! I'll have Beer & Wine in, but but bring along extra if you want.

Well I've seen it once already and you're right, I dont want to see it a second time. wink.gif
Gen
Yes yes, I've been told it's no great shakes of a wedding, but I'd still like to see it someday...
